didnt see this post earlier. I had to remove my hood liner in order for me to get the hood to shut all the way. to my surprise it doesn't look like the brackets are hitting but the bar itself is. right where the bar has that slight bend it in. let us know if you get it installed.

Hey viceversa, so I tried installing it again, i loosened both brackets, put the cross bar in place and was able to get one screw all the way thorugh and the other halfway just like you. Before I even attempted the crescent wrench, I tried closing the hood and guess what, the EXACT same spot on my bar hits my hood and I cant close it. The bend on the cross bar on the passanger side about 1/4 of the way across hits and the passanger side hood has a gap like yours.

Any luck with a shop and anyone else have this issue??

my question is why should everybody go thru all this trouble. If more then one is having this problem. Shouldn't it be a problem Scott should fix. For the money I paid for this I don't want to have to dish out more to get a shop to fix it.

I'm just going to have a shop install mine.

I'll be getting Hotchkis sways put on and corner balancing at the same time. I'll let you all know how it goes, won't be until the first weekend in April though.

Of course you're right. Just to add a little more information. As I indicated earlier, I was one of the first to get this bar, three years ago. After the first install, both supports hit the hood. I spoke to Scott about it, and he fabricated new supports, and I reinstalled them with the bar, and the fit was perfect. So, this is not a new issue. I assumed it had been solved. The bracket to hood tolerance is very tight. It appears, from what I've been reading, that perhaps a new left side support might be needed here.

BTW, when I installed mine, my car was on level ground, it was not on jack stands, so the wheels were not hanging.

Is it only the coupe guys that are having this issue? Or is Tim the only sedan guy who has his?

For the people with it not fitting on the passenger side, I think I may have found a solution. Install it the other way around, with the logo facing the inside of the car. Seems to fit much better, as I was having the same problem with the bar not lining up with it facing out.

Anyone else who got this bar attempted the install yet and have problems? It also seems to me that a new passenger side bracket needs to be made, hood doesn't close and liner hits bracket.
Anyone else notice that the driver side bracket lines up perfectly but the passenger one requires a little force to match up the hole for the a-arm bolt once the 2 on the top of the strut are on?

Yes this is exactly the same case with my bar. I borrowed someone elses bracket to see if theirs was any different but it was the same. I took pics a couple days ago before i took the bar off and im going to send them to scott requesting that he send me a new passenger side bracket. I will also upload those pics here shortly.

I spoke with a member on the forums who bought this bar years ago and he also mentioned he had exactly the same problems when he got his bar and had to get a new bracket from scott. If the majority of people are having this same problem then I'll be one to say the problem is not with our cars...
