It is 1 of only 5 though...
The ones from this group buy were definitely made by someone else.

Umm no, putting the car on stand is just cause for body flex, how can you get best fitment like that. For best fitment your car should be on the ground on a leval surface!!! I have never heard of anyone putting a car on stnds to install a strut bar!!! Originally Posted by BulletproofG35

The best way to get it to fit properly is to modify your car to fit the RA strut bar,... not the other way around. Originally Posted by ShanesG

Someone suggested using a jackhammer, I think an arc welder will work just as well.

I personally have never done it. I asked my co-worker Mike (he's on the GT-R forums) and that's what he said. So sorry for the confusion. IMPE, I've done it on the ground.Originally Posted by ShanesG

FWIW, putting a car on jackstands reduces the forces on the shock towers which cause them to flex inwards slightly when on the ground. This is what a properly designed strutbar is meant to prevent

You mean to tell me that nissan doesn't know how to design a car? The strut bar is to stiffen the car under load not when parked. The truth is the car doesn't need it. Look at a 350z which is for the most part is the same as a G35. It doesn't need to be put on jack stands for any strut bar to be installed no matter who made it. I hope for the sake of the people that bought one scott makes good on sending out the right replacement parts to correct the problems. It's absurd to have to modifiy any of his parts. He should fix the jigs that were used to make them.Originally Posted by redlude97

It's not surprising that the strut bar fits like crap. Look at the terrible quality in welds and how the pipes are bent with varying angles.
Anybody that would pay $500 for that garbage is a complete idiot. Look at the crappy welds on those things. It almost reminds me of the ugly "roll cage" they did in that yellow VRT car with the truck style "push bar" in the front rofl. Lord have mercy they destroyed that z.

Have you ever even heard of preload? If the bar is meant to be installed with the car on jackstands as described, then the design maybe was built with pretension between the shock towers so that when the car sits on the ground the the bar is already flexed, much like the design of the OEM 350z bar with its adjustable endlinksOriginally Posted by captj3

I spoke with another member on the forums who bought this bar years ago from Scott and said he had the same exact problem with the passenger side bracket and had to get a new one made for him. I'm just wondering why the hell did I not read anything about all of these problems before i forked over $500????
That bar is sitting about 1/2 inch higher than my original "VRT" bar. My bar has about a 1 mm gap between the wiring over the timing cover. Your bar looks a good 1/2" above the wire loom. Originally Posted by viceversa

I just finished up writing him an email with these pictures giving more detail of the problem and the corrections that need to be made to the passenger side bracket. I don't think this is a difference between cars Scott. This is lack of consistency in your manufacturing process.

However, there were a bunch of pseudo reviews before people even ordered them (from people that didn’t have one
)
