Exclamation *HELP!* camber kit and VDC and ABS!

i just had a SPC camber kit installed front and rear, but VDC kicks in bc it thinks my tires are slipping.. the abs lights kick on and off.. i cant drive unless i turn the VDC off. i dont want to drive it like this.

i had 20s on there, but just put 17s on there with higher profile tires for the winter. they are the same total diameter. 26 inches from top to bottom.

what is wrong and how do i fix this? thanks in advance!

pretty sure its god's way of telling you to go back to stock.

or at least check the distance on your abs sensors.

Did you have get the spacers installed with the front Camber kit? If so, they're have been TONS of problems with them related to whoever installs them not knows how to install the relocation bracket for the ABS sensors.

If that isnt the problem then if you didnt get an alignment done right after the install, the camber/toe could be so out of whack that it's causing the problem.

i had an alignment done. im looking at the specs right now.. after all thats the whole reason for buying the camber kit..

the mechanic said he got the abs sensor back in the correct spots.. but after a mile of driving home the abs lights came back on..

they gave me a code #C1107, and said they have no information on why my VCD is doing this.

anymore ideas?

How low did you drop the car? Do you know what the camber specs were before the camber kit was installed up front? For most people, there is no reason to have the spacers installed, the arms give you a full degree of adjustment in either direction and that is enough for most people.

there's not much we can do. Only thing i can suggest would be to take off the spacers up front and just max out the A-Arms... that's the only thing that will fix your problem.

I should be having my SPC rear camber arms installed and then getting an alignment on Wednesday. Should I give the place any special instructions?

this problem is mostly related to the front camber kit, little to no issues with rear camber kit, just have in mind what kind of camber and toe you want with regards to tire wear and performance. not knowing how low you are and wide your tires are I cant tell you much...most have a range of -1.3 to -1.8 rear camber with toe going from 0 to -.05 i think. toe is whats going to eat up your tires most

just tell them that the lights will probably turn on after the install. make sure they install the spacers too. i had to move the sensors a little closer than they were stock. then lights turned off. works perfect.

did you get the alignment? how did it go?

as for special instructions, tell them to be careful with your wheels. they will need to take the front ones off to adjust the a-arm. remind them not to use an impact wrench and be easy on the lips. i speak from experience.
