hey guys. i want some tein s-techs or h-techs for my 05 g35 coupe. can i use the stock struts and do i need a camber kit? anybody got some pics? i tried searching for pics with the drop but couldn't find any. i want a nice decent drop. thanks

 

There's a spring comparison right here on G35 Coupe, OEM vs Tein 350Z H Tecs. Regardless which springs you get you'll need the full suspension
adjusters to bring your alignment back to OEM specs. Adjustable A-Arms
front and toe adjusters for the back side. You may as well do it right the
first time and install everything togeather. With the cost of tires today
you'll be money ahead doing it right!

ya you can use stock shocks but I would get the front/rear camber kits or at least the rear camber kit , remember for every inch of drop you will be out 1 degree of camber, if you have any questions let me know

 

depends on how hardcore you want to go - how much you want to spend and how low you want it.

the only springs you can drop with that will give you a chance of NOT needing a camber kit is the G35 H-Techs. i dropped on these a few weeks ago and WAS able to get back in OEM specs.

here is a thread that has a before and after comparison from my drop.

G35 H Techs don't drop much (about .5 front and .35 rear - visit Tein's site for exact numbers on all their models) BUT you'll likely be able to save $ from not needing suspension adjusters and all. this was the goal i was going for - just kill some of the wheel gap and only spend around $500 (springs plus install)...so it fit me well.

again, first you need to figure out your budget and how low you want to go - that'll determine your best option.

and if you're on a budget, unless you just want to replace everything then use your stock struts...why fix it if it isn't broken.

go for it! you can do that no problem.

enjoy replacing those $1000 sets of tires every 6 months cause your camber blows.

+1, it's just the way it is. stech drop low you'll need a camber kit no matter what

If someone is dropped on s techs what exactly else would they need. I am new to all this suspension stuff. What is included in the camber kit? I am thinking about dropping on s techs this summer.

 

If you want a "decent drop" get some 350z s-techs!

 

in the front camber kit it is an adjustable top control arm , the rear is adjustable camber arm and toe bolt,

Tein G35 H Techs = minor drop but no camber kit (meaning only cost you about $200 for springs plus install cost)

EVERYTHING else = will ALSO NEED camber kit (meaning cost of springs, plus install, and kit...you passed your $300 budget a long time ago). SPC's are the cheapest i've seen that alot of guys here run. more info and prices in this Sponser's thread.

find what works for you and your wallet.

You CAN do that. When it come sto car modding, there's always a cheap way and a right way to do things. If you want to go cheap, cou certainly can slap on S-Techs and call it a day, it won't cause you any immediate problems aside from tire wear, ****ty handling because of bad camber/toe/alignment, and OEM shocks blowing a lot sooner than usual.

Do some research here using the search function and see if you are willing to deal with these trade-offs.

Just FYI if you buy new, a full spring, shock, front and rear camber kit plus install will run you in the neighborhood of $1500.
