What size wrench to unbolt front calipers on '06?
Attempted to replace my pads and front rotors this weekend but got hung up on the two large bolts holding the caliper to the spindle.
Anyone know what size wrench it is? I think it's metric. I didn't have one that big.
I tried an SAE wrench but it fit loose and I was afraid of damaging the bolt since it was pretty tight so I didn't try to hard.

That site says it's 22mm
Hmm, maybe it was a 7/8" wrench I had on there. Now i'm confusing myself

I can't imagine it being 22mm. But it's been awhile since I changed my brake

I remember it was big. I had up to 1" SAE wrenches and can remember it was either a 3/4" or 7/8" wrench i had on there.
I have up to 22mm wrenches at work, so just borrowed a 22mm.
It was also tight as hell. That's why i didn't try to hard with the standard wrench since it was slightly loose

For my 03.5 sedan, it was either a 17mm or 19mm socket for the torque member bolts on the front caliper. A breaker bar makes life easier when breaking these bolts loose. If you haven't done so yet, turn the wheel outwards to allow yourself more headroom and space in removing the bolts.
Yep the rotor should come right off after the caliper and bolts are removed. If it doesn't, tap the rotor out with a rubber mallet (or you could spray the area behind the rotor with PB Blaster and hammer the rotor out).
The rotor won't come right off. It will be stuck on. Use some PB Blaster to loosen the rust then give it a few whacks. The front rotors have the access holes for the special rotor removal tool if you have one.
