when lowering...
socialconflicts - the z setup is good just look for low miles really all I have to say. I got mine for like 50$ with under 2k.
As far as other setups... start with the Z springs and struts, if you really feel the need to go lower etc... wait for the time to research. Coilovers is a great option and have gone down in price ( find tons for under a 1k used ). Once you start going low enough though your going to have to spend more and more money with camber/tow issues.

coils are usually a whole setup. They take the place of the current springs and struts. The ups to coils is adjustable ride dampening and also adjustable height.

as far as coils i knew about the whole lowering and adjusting on them, i though there were added benefits like better ride overall. i think a 1inch drop would be perfect for me, so im just going to go for the whole z setup.
The full z springs won't look even. The back will look a little lower. You can get the Z springs up front, coupe springs in the back. Just get alignment after and your tire wear should be ok. If it rides too rough for you, a cheap upgrade would be adding the Z shocks. Not necessary though! I had this setup before and felt it was too high. About a 2 1/2 finger gap. Then switched to Tein S-Techs with Z shocks and it reduced the gap to about a 1 1/2 finger gap. Still too high, no problems whatsoever clearing speed bumps and driveways. Eventually went to Tein Basics. As far as daily drive ride quality i'd rate the 3 set ups in this order.
1. Tein Basics - Best ride quality of the 3 and adjusted to have the tires slightly tuck into the fender.
2. Tein S Techs with Z shocks - 2nd best ride quality. 1 1/2 finger gap. No problems clearing anything.
3. Z/G combo with Z shocks - decent ride quality, huge gap. Could probably clear a sidewalk with this.

I found them used on the marketplace here for 500 shipped. They ride smoother than the s techs and z springs when you adjust them low but if use the basics for a 1 or 2 inch drop the s techs and z springs ride smoother. For brand new basics check with the vendors here. When I was searching for SPC camber kits thmotorpsorts had the cheapest price. I can only assume they would have the best price on a set of basics as well. Try PM'ing the vendors here in the marketplace. I've read that BC coils or Megan coils might be a better bang for the buck purchase than the basics but I never personally tried them so I can't comment on that.
