is it retarded to paint brembo brake calipers?

im really not a fan of gold calipers and would prefer red. can i just paint over with g2 or gotta do prep work? any cons to painting it?

you would have to remove the exsiting paint 1st.

i would assume you would have to at the very least sand it down
so the new paint has something to adhere to ..

but im not 100% sure if G2 would need sanding before applying to an already painted surface ......

Go to the brakes/suspension DIY section over at my350z.com. Someone just posted up a DIY on repainting the brembos. Just make sure to cover up the pistons before stripping the original paint.

You either have to remove the old paint or just sand it so the new paint has something to adhere to. There aren't any negatives to painting them, just make sure you cover up the vitals (rubber boots, pistons, bleed valve) before you paint. And make sure you cure them properly.
