Brake Pads Recomendations

Going to be tackling brakes on the G this weekend. I'm looking for brake pad recomendations. Only have 45k on it so the discs should have enough meat to turn them. Oh yeah it is not a track car. Looking for some good day to day pads. Thanks

i have heard mixed reviews of the hawks and would prob stay away but they would be decent enough for the summer just suck in the cold.

Checkout Posi-Quiets Extended Wear

project mu are great but dust alot similar to the OEM ones

OEM are prob the best overall if you dont mind brake dust

whatever you choose make sure you break them in properly if you dont go oem

I got Akebono ceramics from APW. Low dusting, no noises, no complaints.

+1 No noise, extremely low dust, easy on the rotors, very very long lasting.

OEM on the pads. Best option out there for daily use. And be careful getting cross-drilled. If not done correctly, they can crack. They're only for appearance and might actually decrease your braking performance.

ya it appears i have alot of information to review. however i thought the slotted were for increased braking and cooler(as in temp) rotors. lets keep it going guys who else has liked or disliked the performance in their pads?

I recently installed new pads that I brought from Racing Brake. So far they grab better and have less dust than the OEM Brembo pads. Overall, I'm very happy with the pads and the price. The ET300 are the ones I have which are listed as a OEM replacement

For a daily driver, you don't need to worry about overheating your rotors, so you probably won't notice any difference between slotted and solid rotors. At the track, hot gases develop during repeated hard braking and cause the pad to float a little more above the rotor. The slots do 2 things, help dissipate those gases away, and keep the pads from glazing over. But you're not going to be in that situation during normal driving. And if you were to track your car, you'll need a bigger and better setup than OEM calipers and upgraded rotors/pads, so other than appearance, there's no real benefit to getting slotted on an OEM setup. If slotted rotors improved on the already outstanding OEM braking performance, either Infiniti would have installed them as stock or everyone here would be talking about them. Neither has happened.

Many people may comment on how they like the particular pad they have, or "think" it's a superior pad, but nobody has actually shown that any aftermarket pad outperforms the OEM pads for normal braking.

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
My car had Duralast pads on it when I bought it and I replaced them with Hawk HPS. I can tell you I haven't been happy with either so when the Hawks wear out I'm going back to OEM. 05's don't have the terrible dust problem the 03-04's have.
