Installing Shocks

How hard is it to install shocks compared to installing springs? I've replaced the springs on my car myself but I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to cars to begin with. I can't seem to find a DIY for this either. Anyone have any tips? I'll be installing 350z Tokico D-Spec's

If you can do springs, you can def do shocks. The toughest thing is to loosen/tighten the front upper rod nuts. There is a special tool that makes it easier (rent from auto parts store?) for this but you really don't need it. You just have to find a way to keep the rod still while you tighten the nut. The back ones are the easiest.

Here's the service manual for the Front supension: http://www.g35frenzy.com/downloads/2...nual/E/fsu.pdf

And the back: http://www.g35frenzy.com/downloads/2...nual/E/rsu.pdf

Is it not just an allen wrench to hold the rod? I usually just use an impact gun to take that nut off, the fast impact hit of the gun will usually take it off without spinning the rod.

Yes, you can use an impact CAREFULY. The rod end just has a couple of "flats" for a wrench. There is a special socket that will do this, but I think it's a dealer only item.

I just recently dropped my car on DF210 springs, and if you have replaced the springs on the front, it's the same thing. Just take em out again, and put the springs on the new strut, and replace em. Rear shocks looked super simple, too. I only did springs, though.
