Swaybar / lowering relationship: need some help
Afternoon peeps,
Hello! just picked up an 04 G35 that was lowered on S-techs and has Stillen sways on it. Now, I've been contemplating raising it up a bit with 350Z H-techs just so I don't scrap on things as much as I do right now. The previous owner said that the ride was 'dialed' in. It handles like it is on rails but I may want to raise it .5" or so.
- My question is, (and I've searched but didn't get a specific answer to what I am asking) what is the relationship between the sway bars and the ride height?
- If I do raise it up by putting in the 350Z H-techs, will I need to re-adjust my swaybar settings to compensate for the higher ride height?
Thanks i advance guys, I'm eager to learn about my newly acquired platform. My other car is a lifted 4runner, which has NOTHING in common with the car, lol.

Sway bars do not change ride height. A lowered car with aftermarket sways can be hard on the stock endlinks, which is why aftermarket adjustable end links are available. By raising the ride height, you will be putting less stress on the endlinks. No need to adjust sway bar settings for changes in ride height, but if you had adjustable endlinks, you would adjust the endlinks. Swaybars are for adjusting body roll and oversteer/understeer.
Be sure to get an alignment after you change the springs.

Correct, swaybars don't have anything to do with alignment, they just increase body stiffness. Adjusting them independant of the suspension is fine, it won't have an impact on other parts.
And what year 4runner? I've got a 97 that I've been driving for about 11 years now, great truck.
