I just ordered eibach pro kit for my 2006 6mt coupe. I currently have 62,000 miles on it and was wondering how long everyone is making it on stock shocks (sport suspension)? the car rides fine and there does not seem to be any problems with the stockers. Money is tight and if i can get another 20-30k out of them i would much rather keep it than spend it. Just wondering if its worth replacing it all since im going to have the suspension apart when i get it installed at a shop. thanks guys. if i need to replace what shocks seem to be the best price/performance combo? found tokico blues at modacar dot com for like 289 (set of 4). im done rambling.

 

just do the bump compression test on your front and rear bumpers :P

I'm at 60k on the body and so far I'm doing all right. I also have the sport suspension as well on oem 350z springs (granted its not as much of a drop as yours).

 

did the bump test and all seems to be well. just nervous that if i dont replace them now i will be stuck replacing them in 6 months and paying another $250 in labor to get them installed. i might just have to take my chances and stay stock until i can round up some more cash. thanks for the reply

 

I did mine (05 G35S) at 124K. The struts were obviously done. It's very easy to change them out esp in the rear the strut and spring is separate. In the front, break loose the nut on the strut assembly BEFORE taking out it of the car. It think this saves like an hour or two on any spring job as people struggle to unbolt the strut from the mount after it's off the car. Instead of trying to take the bolt off with some gigantic wrench with the spring compressors on etc. It should take you 2.5 hours if you're mechanically inclined, 4 hours if you're not. There are step by step pictures and even a video with taking the front ones off. for 295 shipped you can get tokico blue hp. not a bad way to spend an afternoon.

 

What shocks/struts should I get for the sport suspension? I jist talked to tokico and they informed me that they do not makeany to fit the sport suspension. I dont want oem feel so the kyb's wont work. So fruatrating. Anu suggestions would be great.

 

Look into the Tokico blues for a 350z or G coupe. I'm running 350z's on my sedan. They are non-adjustable so thats the only drawback, but they are a decent upgrade from OEM.

Get the Tokico D-Spec shocks. They are adjustable and will work great w/the sport suspension. You can dial up a bit more compression and rebound stiffness to match the higher rear spring rate of the sport suspension (the front springs are the same as the non-sport suspension).
