Hey illuminati...congrats! And you got red like me so its awesome! Take some pics today and post of how you did the rear true coil setup..from different angles so I could see..I know how to do it but I want to see it in pics to verify what it looks like..did you use anything in between the spring and the top hat of the rear coilovers?

You are provided 2 rubber washers one goes on the top and bottom of the spring so there is not metal to metal contact. When i am home i will take pictures it took me 30 seconds to convert these coilovers to true style and from what i have heard it is worth it.

Yes they come right off and Correct you use them in the true coilover setup aswell one goes in between the top of the spring (pillow mount) and the bottom goes in between the bottom of the spring and locking collar.

Ok after about 2 hours of work using a jack..hand tools and no helping hand I now have the rear in true coilover setup but in turn its too high so in the morning ill adjust height..I havnt driven it but to another parking spot so idk if there's a difference but from the 1 block drive it looks like its going to be better so ill let you guys know about 10am tomorrow...

But atleast now its in true style so hopefully you guys are right..if those of you with true coil setup on these mdu could share your damper settings id appreciate it..I'm at 8 front and 6 rear which is what toro told me to use so maybe a coupe guy could let me know what theirs are..for a comfortable ride ofcourse..

so yesterday was my first day testing out these MDU's in True coilover style and i have to say it is a change..i didnt even change the stiffness in the rear from when i had it in oem style and with that said it definitely feels better..it took hits hard in the rear in OEM style and ts hard to believe with the same settings in true style it could change that much..

i only drove it a bit so far but took some bumps on purpose and some dips aswell as 1 part of I-75 that felt bumpy before and it took it just about like stock..

1 issue though..i STILL have noise in the rear! sounds like somethings loose but i made SURE everything was tight as could be..and i set the preload where its supposed to be on the springs(since i was scared now the springs would possibly come loose off the shock body) so not sure what it could be..but the ride is definitely smoother in TRUE form so that was the purpose of me doing the conversion..

The clunk isn't from the coils.. make sure you tighten the spring bucket.. Since you have nothing in there anymore, the spring bucket can move freely if it's not tightened down more.. I had the same sound until it was discovered where it was coming from... I easily got about 7 more rotations out of that bolt to tighten it down.. No more clunk after that.. I'm pretty sure you're having the same issue.

Glad you like the new config man.. Told you it was better homie..

I am at 14 for the rear and I believe 10 for the front.

So i was finally able to get the rears done last night and now another question/issue. Ok so right now i have the rears in true coilover style and adjusted the front and rears accordingly both front and rear are set at the same ride height but rears did not lower. I didnt take my slab distance because i was already lowered before installing the coils but it looks about the same as before. It is a 3 finger gap for instance. Is this issue related to preload in anyway shape or form? The front did lower correctly and everything was measured and recorded with a digital caliper but im just dumbfounded and confused why the rears didnt seem to lower.

Thanks for the input guys..and twalls yes you were right about true form..beccause I set it up in true form I'm able to keep my setup now lol everything already had some buyers.. I'm tucking tire..can still make it around town and home without scraping too much and the wifes still comfortable now so everyone wins haha

And I checked my spring bucket yesterday and its fine but this weekend I will take a look with the wheels off..it sounds likne the boise is coming from a higher point there..that's why I imagined it to be the top of the shock body mount.....sounds like its right behind my right rear seat..

And to illuminati..did you check the preload front and rear? Mine are set at 190mm..so preload is 10mm since springs are 200mm.. and from what you said I'm guessing your front and rear shocks are set to the same height? I'm pretty sure the fronts are longer than the rears...I think my fronts are like 24 inches and my rears are like 18 or 19 inches a0in length if measuring from the mounting points..and my ride height is perfect front to rear..not sure if this helps...

Loosen the rear locking collar, its the bottom one that tightens against the lower mount. At that point you can either remove the bottom bolt holding the base of the shock and spin that (right) to lower the rear or you can also leave it connected and spin the whole assembly (left) to lower the rear of the car. Do the same for both sides. The whole threaded section of the shock body is what raises/lowers the car by lengthening and shortening the overall length of the assembly.
chatt350gt, pointed you in the right direction for setting the pre-load.
