lol funny thing is when i brought the car home for the first time after the install(i did the install at the in laws) i made him get out for the speed bump and he walked the rest of the way lol im gonna hold off on adjusting height for now since im happy with how it sits now im messing with the damper..i had it all the way stiff in rear to help scraping but it made the rear extremely rough and bumpy so i softened it up and we'll see what happens in the morning on the way to work. havnt scraped going in or out anywhere nor the speed bumps at the apt complex like i had before..but thats my left over skill from my eclipse days...and partly these pirate coilovers ofcourse! lol i do love having coilovers after messing with springs on the last car..go out there anytime and have the damper adjusted on all 4 corners in less than 10 mins..cant beat it..more pics anyone? taken on my android so sorry for the quality..

Pretty excited that i found this thread im about to bite the bullet within the next few weeks. One think im pretty confused about is making the rears to "true coilover" and configuring the preload.

Chatt, the coupe looks racy and thanks for the report with pics.
Can those mud guards be removed? It look like a straight bottom "finished" rocker panel could be underneath.
If yes, then it will give the car more clearance to speed bumps.

Twalls explained how to make the rear a true coilover up a few replies.
summed up, you unscrew the bottom of the shock(the bottom fork), slide the spring onto the shock with the collars from the perches (used in the OE set-up) then screw the bottom of the shock back on. The spring will sit between the top mount and the collars (from the perches).
As far a preload, snug the collars up to the spring, then tighten the collar so it compresses the spring. I would search around to see what others are running, but I have my front springs at 10mm.
thanks toro! no problem..arent many of us with them so there is a lack of reviews lol
and they are 19 inch varrstoen +12 offset all around with 245/35 front and 275/30 rears.
and toro the mudguards can be removed and ive thought of it to have more clearance but i really love the way they look..haha cause if i remove them id want to go more low!=P

I actually just messaged racingfirst and ask him if you can pick a specific color and he said no. Whenever he gets a shipment he get either red, orange, or yellow but he knows before hand and hes getting a new shipment on the 15th which are red coilovers if anyone was intrested.
Well than you sir! Well there you go people..you have reviews..still great price and next shipment will be red so all that's left is hit "buy it now" on ebay and your on the boat with us on these pirate coilovers..
Update..coilovers might be for sale along with wheels after this weekend!
UNLESS i can fix this...i know i talked about bounce before and you guys said to set it up in true style which i havnt done yet but i want to make sure were talking about the same bounce...i was talking about a floaty feeling which i solved by stiffening the damper setting but now whenever on rough roads its real bumpy and hard...will true coil stlye still fix this rough feeling??

The ride feels tight and responsive, but when I hit a bump, it's not jarring or rough at all... I know of some of the other DFW G's that have the Topspeed coils (MDU) as well that followed my lead in converting to true coil setup and said the same thing that it was night and day..
Trust me man.. Just go to the true coil setup before you decide to sell.. I'd be interested in hearing if it solved all your problems or not.
The issue I was describing that true coil fixes is the settling bounce when you hit even a small bump in the road.. It feels like as you said "floating".. It seemed like it took forever for my car to settle again after hitting a bump.. Putting the coils in True setup will prevent that feeling as well as you from having to adjust your damping to the stiffest setting, so it won't give you that rough feeling you're describing now.

THANKS TWALLS! yeah at first it was floaty but when i stiffened the rear it solved that but now the front takes hit perfectly but the rear hits real hard..so i will be doing that...actually i decided not to sell anything last weekend since i have gotten used to the way it feels and i cant give up the way my car looks now..and my handling is way more responsive and tight feeling..it still sucks to hit bumps since i cant avoid all of them lol..due to the rear but as soon as i get a chance ill be switching to true coil setup but Import Alliance is in like 30 hours so i dont think ill be able to before then..but i will try that and im sure it will solve my issue. i also developed a small rattle on the right rear side even though i made sure everything was tightened down. any suggestions?
