I don't remember what I did on mine. I started to say that I just lubed the inner part, but I might have done the outer also. I'll have to look at it again next time I get it up on the lift. No squeaks yet on mine after 5K+ miles.

Actually I just called ES to find out for sure and it turns out the lube can only go on the inside of the swaybar bushing.. Good thing I got it right...

Now my next step is to replace the ball joints without breaking the bank

Ebay is your friend on the balljoints.

Vinco - do you know if the aftermarket lower balljoints on ebay are reliable?

I have no information on that, but I have read that they fit well. They've got to be better than riding around on worn out originals. Actually, the originals are probably made in China anyway.

If all i'm replacing is the compression rod bushings, will I need to get an alignment afterward? My tires and alignment appear to be ok right now.

I haven't gotten an alignment, and I've been driving on my ES front end kit for 11K miles so far with no noticeable tire wear.

Use LOTS of lube on the CR bushings!

On which surfaces? Everything that touches something?

Notice the gap? Is that normal? Or did I fudge up the install?

Mine looks pretty much the same. Just hit the nut one more time with your breaker bar to be sure it's got plenty of torque on it. Is the car jacked up at all in this picture? If the car's weight isn't on the wheel, then it especially looks like that. The bushing is back cut where the barrel meets the aluminum arm, so it allows it to pivot a little bit. I think that's what you're seeing.

So much firm and the noise is gone Finally !!

It's always smart to check bolts with a breaker bar/torque wrench after using an impact wrench. Tire places do it for lug nuts...
