Akebono BBK question: Please help!

I have been searching like crazy and I have only found a very tiny amount of information regarding the Akebono BBK fitting with the 18" OEM wheels.

The only thread to even discuss the matter was this thread:

https://g35driver.com/forums/v36-bra...t-oem-18s.html

However, in the thread the 18" OEM wheels are from a sedan with a staggered 18x7.5 Front and 18x8.5 Rear setup. My 18" OEM wheels are from a 2006 coupe which I have tried to find the wheel widths and am pretty certain are all 18x8 Front and Rear.

If anyone else can please chime in and let me know if it would be possible to run the Akebono BBK with the 18" OEM wheels using 25mm spacers I would greatly appreciate it.

Last case scenario I will just have to remove the wheels and try the template, but I do not have access to a garage and tools right now so I would have to pay a shop to do so. Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me clear up this question!!

the coupe 18's clear the brembos so they have more room than the sedan 18s. I dont see it wouldnt fit with spacers.

post # 12 in the thread you provided has this template from CZP that you could use to test fit it. That'll be your best bet to find out!

Yeah, that's what I am thinking as well. I think with a 25mm spacer I shouldn't have any issues.

Unfortunately, I am going to have to pay someone to do this since I don't have access to any tools right now but I will probably end up doing so to gaurantee I don't run into any problems.

Crappy! Did you run a 25mm spacer with it? Just curious. May have to get the OEM 19's then.

Nah I didnt, the face of the rim cleared. The caliper at the bottom was hitting the barrel of the rim.

I am thinking with a 25mm spacer though that pushes the entire wheel out I should have enough clearance. This is only temporary until I get the wheels I really want.

I contacted two other members at that time who tried the coupe 18s, both confirmed it wouldn't fit without spacers. IIRC, at least one tried it with a 25mm, which they say cleared. Sadly i no longer have my PMs from that time.

Fantastic! I will definitely make sure to get 25mm spacers then. Thank you very much for the information!

Hope to have both the spacers and BBK on in a month.

^^^Def let me know after you get them installed. I already ordered 2 sets of 25mm spacers. Would be great to not have to use them, but I have them just in case.
