Hi guys,

I just bought my g35 and vdc abs and slip light is on after pressing on break pedal. When I fpressurize the car and press the break it's like the abs system antilock is trying to engage, very wired. Then the rattling goes away and pedal smoothed and all 3 lights come on.
I have taller tires on rear so not sure if this is throwing the system out. The code reads and sensor, do you think it's a sensor or just larger tires that are setting the code and lights on. What is weird is the pedal feel, I can actually hear a noise from abs system and pedal is somewhat harder than normal befor lights come on and pedal smoothes to what I would think its normal feel, then abs vds slip lights turn on.

Can someone help? Couldn't find a thread on possible larger tires, I'm running 235/40/18 on front and larger 235/55/18 on rear, would this be the problem?

Yes, taller tires can cause that behaviour, but it depends on which G35 you have. Is it a coupe or sedan?

i'd say if your brake fluid levels are fine then your rear tires are too big

It is a 2004 coupe.

take your car to autozone to get a read on the engine light codes. my car had the same problem and the code that came up was P0340 bank A, i replaced the camshaft position sensor (bank A or 1) which is located on the back of the left head (if you are facing the engine) it is a straight (not angled) sensor with a green connector. i paid $65 for it and took me 30 min to replace it. i used a 10mm wrench. this should take care of the problem.

if your car has stick shift, it has two sensors, but one is in and angled plug and it is the Exhaust valve timing control position sensor. DO NOT REPLACE THIS SENSOR!

If you haven't figured it out by now, your rear tire is too tall.

I had the same issue with a taller tire in the back, so I replaced them with the stock 19's with 255/35/19, but the light still is on. Any suggestions?
