Anyone interested in adjustable spring buckets/mid links?

Just wondering if there are enough people interested in adjustable spring buckets.

The benefit of it will be that you will have about 10 degrees of adjustable toe using (hopefully) the spl hybrid adjusters. SPL currently has a mid link which uses smaller springs but my mid link will be oem style.

For most people who are slammed, in order to get toe in spec your camber will average about -2.2 to -2.5 range. The plan for these mid links will be if you use adjustable camber arms along with this, you will be able to get your alignment in spec while you are lowered. It will work with stock spring cones, aftermarket coilovers and as well as air suspension.

The parts will be designed in Solidworks and WILL be stress tested as well. Below is a quick 15 minute concept but obviously the finished product will be very different. The concept consists of plasma cut shaped plates, bent and welded.

If there are enough people interested I will be making it in a single piece billet aluminum.

Some people may know me to be the guy who makes and sell akebono brackets.

Attached below is a design concept:

As the days/weeks pass by I will be updating this thread with progress from Solidworks and my concept.

Again, this first photo is a 15 minute concept design and for now yes it looks like a frying pan.

10/30/12 Update:

Will be putting it on next week and I'll post up alignment specs.

11/3/12 Update:

Modified opening for clearance during suspension travel and center piece modified to accommodate for UAS brackets.

11/6/12 Update:

Arms installed, ride height set, alignment done.

I was too lazy to take off the front wheels to adjust caster on the SPL upper arms. The initial specs are with the new arms installed and eyeballed to the same length as the oem arms. These arms have successfully restored my rear wheel alignment back into spec while the car is lowered.

As far as I know so far, I have the only adjustable spring buckets that can correct the toe and camber combo for the rear wheels.

Im VERY interested in this design. Especially if it will be cheaper than SPL AND work flawlessly with OEM rear coils/ springs as you mentioned.

most people that are slammed are running true coilovers, so your market is shrunk in half. but i like the idea of using oem mounts vs spl's method. I already acquired the SPL units with springs though.

I'm still in the process of working things out with the shop right now. If price, time and quality is right, It's definitely going to be made out of billet aluminum and hopefully it will have a height adjustable center so people should be able to use their current springs including stock springs to go lower as well. No need for new springs for ANY reason hopefully.

As of right now, It will not be cheaper than SPL mid links. My design is completely different but on the bright side you wont need to buy new springs to work with these mid links

On the OEM mid links their is a small channel in which the OE spring sits in. In this pic I don't see anything like that.

What are your plans to keep the lower portion of the spring in position?

For now the first test piece is focused on alignment specs. My car is currently on air bags so that's why the center has a hole and bump like that. Once we figure out a good alignment range then we will focus on creating a cnc cut piece that will be welded or most likely bolted in the center to accommodate for either stock springs, aftermarket coilover springs or air bag setups.
