I just finished getting my alignment done. I already decided to get a rear camber kit since they're not too expensive. But do I really need to spend the money on getting a front camber kit or should i be fine? The front camber came out to be L -1.89 and R -1.65. Everything else was put back into spec.

 

It depends on your personal judgement on what is an acceptable amount of camber/what kind of decrease in tire life you are willing to see vs. the cost of front camber kits.

Personally with that small amount of camber, if you are able to get toe in spec and at the cambers at least matching around that value, I wouldn't bother with it unless you drive a lot - causing your tires to not last very long (time wise).

 

I don't drive my car that often, so I dont know if I want to spend $400 on a front camber kit. But as long as I got my toe in spec I should be fine right?

 

Yeah u should be fine but the g is known to have excessive camber wear from the factory so u should get it into spec as much as you can..

 

Relatively yes. but your tires will still wear faster than normal and you can figure a new set of front tires will run you ~200-400ish depending on what tires you go for. I would compare that to how often you expect to be replacing tires and see what makes more sense, front camber kit now or not.

 

Yeah I guess thats true, in the long run its better to have a camber kit. I probably wont get one right away but when I get some extra cash. Thanks for the input.

 

U can get an spc front shim kit for the fronts for like $30 bucks, gives u 2 degrees of positive camber.. I have 2 sets just sitting in boxes..

 

ehh, it also depends on how you drive (on how hard you drive). I wear my tires on the outside first and probably would get better tire life with static negative camber. -1.85 camber will give you much better front traction in the corners though will worsen the cars over-steer tendencies. You should consider how your previous tires wore, or pay attention to how this one wears.

I asked the guy in the shop about shim kits and he said that it wouldn't be much better. He told me its a pain to put on and take off and its non adjustable.

 

That's good advice, keep that mechanic around.

 

Yeah, the guys there know what they're talking about. I was hesitant to go there at first but they've got themselves a repeat customer now.
