Problem with SPC camber kit

hey all,

So I installed my front and rear SPC camber kit recently, but I'm having trouble with the driver front brakes. When I apply them while driving it sounds and feels like the ABS is kicking in. Do you guys think I should add another one of the washers to space out the sensor? would that fix the problem?

Any insight would be helpful.

Hmm, it calls for two so I would start at none or one and work your way up..

No ABS lights? I had similar instances shortly after having mine installed except my light came on as well. Only happened on steep driveways when taken at an angle, not sure what changed but mine hasn't done that in over 1.5 years.

Now that sounds more like a spacer problem.

I added another washer to the ABS bracket to space it out more and it looks to have solved the problem but I still have all the lights showing on my dash.
Gonna clear the codes and see what happens.

Everything seems to be ok again, the Christmas tree of dash lights was off when I went back to clear the codes!
Thanks all for your help

Update:

Still have the same problem...Thinking of selling the kit and opting for the more expensive SPL kit

this is very tedious. I had the same issue with the SPC camber kit.

You have to install some washers or spacers for the ABS sensor. When done correctly, the lights will turn off trust me.

It took me forever to get it right. Just make sure the ABS sensor isnt rubbing on the magnetic strip on the bearing hub. If so, it will destroy the magnetic strip and the sensor will not operate correctly causing the ABS lights to turn on. I had this happen to me.

Too much spacing and the sensors dont sense the magnetic strip on the bearing hub.

It has to be just right.

Thanks for the reply Algy, how many washers (the ones that came with the kit) did you use on either side? I started with two on both sides and have been trying to figure it out independently on both sides...maybe that my problem.
Did you space both sides evenly is my main question i guess lol

Thanks again!

Idk, did you install the hub shim correctly & the L bracket piece that SPC supplies to support the sensor? When I install mine I turned the hub with only 2 washers for the ABS sensor & it sounded like some rubbing was happening so I just added one on each side for a total of 3. Not one problem with ABS, slip, VDC at all.

Mmk,

The way I understand ABS system to work is that if the sensor is too far away the system thinks the wheel isn't moving so the ABS pump kicks in every time you touch the brake pedal.

I just went and set both sides to one washer and so far it seems to have solved the problem. I'll go drive it a bit more in a short while and let you guys know what up!
