Alignment out of wack, Mechanic blames to much negative camber
So I recently mounted my new wheels and I had to run -4.5 camber up front and -2 in the rear.
Everything is fine at low speeds but up to around 60 mph it gets really floaty and hard to handle.
I talked to the guy who did my alignment and he said that its because I'm running so much camber up front but I'm not sure if that's true or that he just didn't know what he was doing.
Anyone have suggestions?

My suggestion is to adjust your camber so you're closer to OEM spec:

Running that much camber is silly, but its even sillier to complain about ride quality if you do.

I don't think it's the camber, or just the camber. Honestly -4.5 and -2 isn't that bad; that's probably about what bimmers like to have at the track.
What's your toe at? negative toe will make the car "darty" over bumps and track towards the bumps. Try for some positive toe, even at the expense of some camber. Maybe the alignment shop ended up with negative toe trying to get the camber as positive as possible?
A "floaty" feeling though would make me think of the shocks.
Or you could have bad bushings or bad bump steer.

Check how far off your caster is as well, if a combination of toe and caster are both out (but neither out badly individually) it can cause some odd feeling in the front end. Also take a look at your bushings, particularly the lower control bushings, they go bad without really knowing it and combined with the rest of the odd settings will contribute to uncertain feel while driving.
I'm running 19x10-4 up front with -3 camber and Toe in spec and have no problems. If you don't have adjustable A-arms (SPL, or at least SPC) get them. And pull your front fenders so you can dial back the camber and still have it fit the body well.

Thanks Chris, silly is a nice word or description when refering to the trendy camber settings some members think it's cool to run. Noticed this trend coming out of Japan in the mid '90s and hoped we were smart enough not to follow them.

Hey guys sorry for the late reply but everythings fine.
Talked to the guy who's doing alot of my fitment work for me and he said that it was because the tires had to wear a little bit first.
Also I have a full spc camber kit front and back and the dumb *** who installed it didn't dremel the new hole for the toe bolt so i'm sure that came into play.
But it doesn't budge at all now, did about100 today and it felt solid.
