Steering question
Steering question
My steering feels notchy at times, more so when im going slow or right after I put it in gear, any ideas?? Im pretty sure my toe in the front is a little off cause my tires are choppy.. Im thinking a bushing..
Could be the angle joint piece. Mine went bad like 2 years ago. Replaced it and it drove perfect after that.

There are a few places you are going to want to check. If you have the same or similar issues with your underbody connections that I do then we can collect the issues point to one specific piece.
I had some cracks in my suspension bushings. The pictures are below. They were on the transverse link (picture 3) and the LCA (Picture 2). The compression rod bushings were looking dry. I added automotive grease (tube kind) to all of these bushings for the time being.
The parts that I noticed were chalk dry were the steering knuckle (picture 1), the rod end of steering wheel engine side, & the steering rack (what I could see with this one). Those were lubed with an automotive grease (in a tube kind).

Thanks for the info.. I still gotta get mine checked.. I noticed a slight clicking sound when I turn the wheel to the left while I'm parked.. I'm at 96k miles and lowered most of the time so I'm sure some bushings are bad..
Reporting back, I put automotive grease (pressed in with index finger anyways) into all the bushings and ball joints I could find on the front end.
