Does ANYONE know the stiffness increase with the Nismo Bars compared to stock? A percentage number would be most beneficial - please - thanks guys

oh, and as far as the discussion is concerned with deciding which to buy, if you could get a set of bars for $100 in hand, you'd probably just buy those too, wouldn't you?

I guess that should work for me, right? I'll be trading out 05 sways for these 03 Nismo's

I finally got my Stillens on, they were sitting in the garage for a few months as I had other priorities (incoming twins).

I am by no means an expert on working with cars so weigh that in when evaluating the install. Also, I have the Eibach Pro Kit springs installed which made lifting the car especially tedious, more so on the front than the rear.

I misplaced the instructions included with the bars but with the comments here I felt warm and fuzzy tackling the job without them. I started with the rear, using the transmission housing as the jack point. I put jack stands under the control arms and removed the 6 bolts holding the stock sway bar in. After inventing new swear words trying to get the bar out, I removed the screws holding the exhaust hangers and the bar came out within a few minutes. It was MUCH easier to remove/replace the rear swar bar from the drivers side than the passenger side. Time: about 40 minutes.

As for the front, there was a bit more work to do. After finding good jack stand points I pulled the plastic shroud from the bottom by removing a ton of screws (10mm or large phillips) and a few of the plastic push connectors. There is also a small plastic shroud on the passenger side of the car that wraps the front sway bar. Oddly, there isn't a matching shroud on the drivers side. I found it easier to remove the single plastic push connector on rear of the shroud and just bend it out of the way. From here, it was 8 bolts on the body of the sway bar and one bolt on the end. There is a metal piece attached to the original sway bar connector to keep it from moving too much. This piece can be twisted around and placed in the adjustment holes of the Stillen bar. The new bars are too thick to put this piece in the same position as the stock bar. Total time: about 90 minutes.

I did not replace the bushings with poly's, but I wish I had. Just seems a waste to have everything apart and not replace them. I did change out the synthetic and filter however.

To be honest, I haven't noticed a sharp difference as of yet but I also haven't done any canyon carving. Settings are Med/Med.

 

Can someone tell me if the Stillen sway bars are better than the OEM's on my '05 Coupe? I heard the 19" setup had stiffer bars than the 17" and 18" coupes. I have the 19" wheels. Is it still worth the investment?

They are worth investing in because they will still do the main purpose for which they should be used. To allow you the ability to fine tune the handling balance of the car at the limit to suit your needs or style. If however you plan to tune in a way where you want to leverage a much higher amount of front roll stiffness to the car. You would be better off going with the Hotchkis bars or EVO350 bars if that's the case.

Infiniti Tustin quoted 25+ each... someone out here mentioned $13 each... Does anyone know where to get them for $13? Is it necessary to replace front and rear end links?

 

Hmmm . . . Looks like there is a set of Stillen sway bars in my G's future.

No corrals on 350evo info is incorrect. Just now I confirmed this in tel conversation with 350evo rep (513-735-2300).

Few months ago while shopping for suspension parts I was saving posted info in forums on the net into my shopping list. I still have to buy rear sway bar and it is good to hear that 350evo comes with corrals. Thank you for correcting me.
