A TSB is just a notice that Infiniti recognizes an issue with our cars. It isn't like a warranty where they will fix the issue for free. Some members have had luck printing TSBs and taking them to the dealer to get the issue fixed for free, but they are few and far between.

My guess is you'll have to pay out of pocket.

Honestly, you can DIY! All you need to do is find out which side the noise is coming from if its one side or both. Then remove the axle
and clean the surface. Then lube it with Molykote M77 grease. That's all! Saves you an arm and leg from the dealership

Thank you so much for the link I called the dealer ship and they said it will cost me $180 to fix it. The link you posted says 2003-2005 g35 mines a 06 it's pretty much the same right?

I have an Popcharger and Ztube along with an aftermarket exhaust... Will they deny my elite warranty? I'm assuming no because those mods have nothing to do with the bearing in the axle... but i don't know..

*** Sorry for brining this from the dead... Hey, atleast I didn't make a new thread lol.

G35sanjose: pretty much the same just diff. head lights and tail lights etc. I would think the prob. would be fixed by now by the dealership. But $180 vs. The cost of the grease I say DIY. I believe it's a FLAW infinity made and there's no other way for them to fix it (I think) trust me it's not hard at all unless you dont have the tools

Ok, I'm gonna call around a bit and see how much the service costs. If its too expensive I might try tackling it myself. I don't have any good jackstands or bevy of tools at my disposal though.

Anyone else looking at this thread, just know before you take the axles out, it's easy to be sure that they are the actual source of the noise.

While stopped, roll down your windows, have the engine running, and shift from D to R and back multiple times, pausing just long enough each time for the trans to engage the gear. You should hear a noticeable, single click each time it changes gear. If you're hearing the noise only under acceleration or cornering, your issue is much more likely a loose/worn connection point in the suspension.

Hi guys
Here is my problem, i have a 06 g35 x and I recently bring my car to the garage to change the front right axle and wheel bearing (the boots was leaking bad and a loose on the bearing) . Then from this point i started hearing two different noise. The first one is when i shift from D to R ...

EX: when i do this test i can hear a noticeable clunk.

----- Hold your foot on the brake, put the transmission in “Drive”, and apply some mild throttle (just enough to load up the front end), release the throttle, and then put the trans in “Reverse” (while still pressing firmly on the brake) and apply some throttle to load up the front end in the opposite direction. Hear a “clunk”----

and the other sound is when i'm cruising at 10 mph over very small bump i can hear a sound(cheliling) from where the axle was changed like if i was playing with a set of key.

I was there when the mechanic change the parts and i didn't see him apply any grease on the axle .
Do you think the mechanic may have installed the axle on the wrong side ??? and is there a way i can see if he install it on the good side ??

First thing i did was removing the wheel to see if something was loose in the brake or something like this, but everything seems firmly in place.

Do you guys think the grease can be the cause of the sounds i'm hearing ???

Can i drive it like this for the weekend ???

Is there a tsb for the awd ( front axle ) ???

Many thanks !!!

rear axle click VIDEO

Hello,

I know I am bring up an old thread with a common topic but I just got few questions about "rear axle click"

My video

I've looked up the TSB ITB05002, and also found a few video DIY's so I'll be taking care of this on my own. Question is:

A. What type of grease do I need to use, and or whats the best one?
B. From a mechanic stand point, should I perform this fix to both sides even though only one is clicking?
C. Based on this video
, which direction do I spin the drive shaft to get easy access to the rest of the 6 bolts / nuts?

Last but not least while I am under her a$$, what other fixes do you guys suggest? i.e. Diff drain and fill? etc....

Thanks for reading.
