i took my G in for service 2 days after the parts department said they got all their backordered axles.. i specifically asked the dealer to change my axles, he said ok. once i got my car back, i looked at the receipt and it said that they only greased the axles and the dealer went off saying that infiniti doesnt have the parts to fix this yet. it was getting late so i went back home and an hour later the problem came back.
Madflasher - Lemon Laws vary state to state. I've included the juicey bits from the ohio law below, this applies to leases as well as purchases.
http://autopedia.com/html/LemonLaw/OH_lemonlaw2.html
(B) If the manufacturer, its agent, or its authorized dealer is unable to conform the motor vehicle to any applicable express warranty by repairing or correcting any defect or condition that substantially impairs the use, safety, or value of the motor vehicle to the consumer after a reasonable number of repair attempts, the manufacturer shall, at the consumer's option, and subject to division (D) of this section replace the motor vehicle with a new motor vehicle acceptable to the consumer or accept return of the vehicle from the consumer and refund each of the following:
(1) The full purchase price;
(2) All incidental damages, including, but not limited to, any fees charged by the lender or lessor for making or canceling the loan or lease, and any expenses incurred by the consumer as a result of the nonconformity, such as charges for towing, vehicle rental, meals, and lodging.
Section 1345.73 Presumption of reasonable number of attempts to repair.
It shall be presumed that a reasonable number of attempts have been undertaken by the manufacturer, its dealer, or its authorized agent to conform a motor vehicle to any applicable express warranty if, during the period of one year following the date of original delivery or during the first eighteen thousand miles of operation, whichever is earlier, any of the following apply:
(A) Substantially the same nonconformity has been subject to repair three or more times and continues to exist or recurs;
(B) The vehicle is out of service by reason of repair for a cumulative total of thirty or more calendar days;
(C) There have been eight or more attempts to repair any nonconformity;
(D) There has been at least one attempt to repair a nonconformity that results in a condition that is likely to cause death or serious bodily injury if the vehicle is driven, and the nonconformity either continues to exist or recurs

I just dropped mine off today to get the click fixed and the fuel issue where it will not let me fill up a full tank, they told me that they were the ones that created the TSB for the clicking sound so they know all about it and would replace both rear axles today, they did not even worry about me having supercharged the car. Got to say they are really nice to deal with (Barber Infiniti of Fairfield)
Anyone know when the parts will be in. My dealership told me there are 17,000 of them on back order. Been waiting two months now.
What I understand is that there are a total of three parts being replaced. They have two of the three, but not the third. That is the one that is backordered. I hope it does not take too long.
I have to drive 2 hours over the passes. It won't be too long before snow starts coming down up there. I will not drive this car in the snow. NO WAY!
Hope they come in soon!

I have an '04 manual transmission, and when I accelerate in first and sometimes second gear, then let off the gas (without touching the brakes or clutch) I hear some type of creaking noises. It happens when the car is cold, but after it is driven for a while, I don't notice the sounds at that point. Is this similar to others' experiences?
Thanks

Very annoying to here everytime I give the car gas. I just imagine someone checking out my car and wheels and then when I take off. KGRRK. NICE!
Maddflasher...what Peteosx said...It doesn't have to be life threatening for the lemon law to apply. My car is still in the shop waiting for the backordered parts. 2 weeks and counting, still no call from the dealer. I got a call from Infiniti corporate today. I asked them for the buy back but instead they offered to refund me 2 payments. Seeing that I paid cash, I'm assuming they meant that they were going to give me $86,000.
Rather generous on their part...Yeah right...I had to break down and get a lawyer involved. They stated that since the dealer had ordered the wrong part several times that the reimbursement of 2 monthly payments would be the best they could do.

Anybody knows if sth serious can happen if you dont't fix the clicking but simply drive with it? I have my G in Europe, so no warranty, and I don't want to pay some Nissan dealer to try to fix it.
Do you have a CAI? If so, ditch it. I had the same case with Stillen.

Did you ever solve the problem? I'm having almost the exact same issue as you. It even happens when I make a right turn sometimes
Could this sound be mistaken for an exhaust leak? I think I have the axle clicking noise but I'm not sure. The stealership said that they can look at it for $140 and if it's under my powertrain warranty (6yr/70k) they will take care of it for free and waive the $140. My car is an 03 w/ 45k on it, and the sound is REALLY bothering me. I hear it when I'm pulling away from my house, from stoplights/redlights, and other times too.
