Care to elaborate on this a bit? And can you give a short summary of how the engineering design of the VRT STB allows it to be functional? Not trying to call you out or anyting like that... just want to be educated. Appreciate any info you can give us.

I think the point is that the Arc STB doesn't allow for a plenum spacer or aftermarket plenum which are quite popular.

How about for 75 bucks you can get a LOWER strut bar from GT spec and do wonders. Independent (we hope) reviews are in a nearby thread under Reviews.Apparently handling and feel are much improved. You can get 3 bars and a 4 point chassis brace as well. 400 bucks is a joke
+1...i think $400 is a little high...but i guess that's the way it always is....i guess if there aren't that many people making it, then the price goes up, and up, and up.......

Hmm.. good point but I was thinking that Scott's comments implied that the ARC STB might not be very functional in the area of reducing chasis flex. Feel free to correct me if my assumptions are incorrect Scott.

Somehowhow, I guess you missed my post above, that was quoted by Scott Did you add anything new here And BTW, There are other issues concerning rigidity, which I'm sure Scott will address.

The front STB on the G35 is a real difficult challenge, we all know that from several different perspectives. Getting it to fit over the plenum, under the hood, attaching it properly etc. If it was as easy as doing the rear, where one can use a stamped piece of metal and quickly install it, it would have been done just as rapidly.

Unfortunately, there are compromises involved with a front STB just as there are with every piece of equipment, and in the case of the STB they are more extreme.

One design extends upwards a few inches, rigidly, to a base point for the bar, which is typically flat. This ties the ST together effectively, but it is complex and involves a lot of welding and expensive material, thus the cost.

The other design utilizes a cleaner looking arc of expensive material, but that "bow" introduces a potential for much greater flex with the leverage that the chassis is going to bring to bear against it. Will it really work as effectively with that curvature. There are no tests so it is speculation either way.

One thing is for certain. Any way that we go an effective front STB adds big returns in handling with the car. And it is going to cost more than a lot of other mods and offer little in the way of profits to somebody that makes them. The volume for sales is low, the materials and fabrication costs too high.

$400 will be the starting price for it powder coated (gloss black will be the standard color) and with all necessary hardware and instructions. I can do other colors (and chrome) for a "reasonable" additional price.

If interested, email me at wa2good@hotmail.com

Thanks.

Without going into any real detail on here about others STB's (I am not a mud slinger) I would like to say that;

dklau33, you're assumptions are correct, and that IS a real consern with THAT brace

xswl0931, you are correct as well on your point about the plenum spacers.

Eagle1, Thanks alot for the great explanation, you hit the nail right on the head.

Like I have said before, Not really any profit to speak of in making these. If anyone would, or could make this STB that was as effective as ours and at a similar price, I would 100% welcome it, hell it would save me A TON of work and trouble, and I would just gladly purchase their. Hahaha. Just trying to help out the "G" community on a much needed modification (a front STB), one that actually WORKS.

I have one. It is the way to go. It works great with my coilovers and sways, on the track and on the street.

Mine is on the way. There was a problem with the first one I received, the supports were too high and interfered with the hood. I am confident that when my new supports arrive they will work as advertised.
