Test drove a 04 G coupe 6MT today

And I LOVED IT!

The G wouldn't stand a chance in a race against a WRX but the G made my WRX look like a lada when I sat in it. Defenitively not the same philosophy. You've got a supertuned ordinary sedan on one side and a real sportscar on the other.

I loved the instant low end torque. The WRX pulls more at it's peak but it doesn't stays that way for long and the turbo lag just kills all the fun. The fact that is more comfortable and that it is a smoother, quieter ride until you press the gas pedal to hear that sweet V6 sound is just as great!

And I don't understand why some of you guys are complaining about the transmission because shifting was way smoother and less "clunky" than my WRX's.

Thats what i thought. most have never driven a really clunky trans. Drive an AWD car then the G and you'll never complain again

I dont know what kind of WRX your talking about...but ive murdered plenty of WRX's on the road. Now if youre talking about an STi, thats a different story...

WRXs and G35s seems to be very close in the 0-60 with the WRX having a slight edge if the driver knows how to do it correctly. But at higher speeds, the WRX gets destroyed. And you also need to consider that hard launches are very bad for the WRX's transmission.

But anyway, I'm not looking for a street racing car, I'm looking for a fun to drive and comfortable car that has class. The G is a very bad choice if you want to go very fast in a straight line and beat people. Get a stang or something like that if you want to do that. And street racing is dangerous, irrespectful of other's safety, stupid and pointless IMO.

Oh and I also have a COBB AP stage 1 on my car presently.

BTW I'm still waiting to try a 07 Legacy Spec B to compare with the G, the dealer will recieve it soon. It's not as pretty or does no sounds as sexy as a G but it's AWD (so no need for winter beater), it's roomier and the interior is waaaay better.

And G-Mented, didn't looked back yet?

Ok, I just finally took a look at the 07 legacy Spec B and the only thing I can find the G35 coupe has over the spec B is looks and sound. Sorry to tell you that guys but the Spec B is waaaay roomier, AWD (so no need of winter beater), prettier and better quality interior, more comfortable, quieter, can be easily tuned to a STI level (power-wise), more practical, has a smoother transmission, safer, more fun to drive and a whole lot more. And the exterior looks way better in real than on pictures.

Looks like the G35 is going out of my mind for good. If only the Spec B had the looks of a G, that would've been the perfect car.

Yeah, with a boring-to-drive and slow automatic transmission.
