Need help buying

Hi guys, Let me first start by saying I absolutely love the g35 coupe, ever since it came out back in 03'. My family is an Infiniti family as my dad is on his 2nd Q45 and my sister has a Qx4. I'm gettin near the age of 16 soon and I really want a g35 coupe, however my dad insists that if he even thinks about buying me a g35, he'll only get me a g35x, because of the 4wd. He's a pretty experienced driver and says that he'll never buy his son a rwd car because we live in st. louis and he knows how tough it is to drive these in snow/rain. The thing is, I like the coupe much more than the g35x in all aspects, and theres currently a few deals that have some coupes with similar pricing to the same year g35x's. I need some way to convince my dad to get me a coupe instead of an x. If you've got any safety information, in terms of performance in rain/snowy conditions or just personal stories that can attest to the coupes performance in these conditions please post and let me know. My dad's considering keeping his Q and letting me drive that since he now has moved on to a company car. In the winter, he says i can drive our chrysler van or he'll drive me around. I'll try and see if I can convince him that if I keep my end of the bargain(grades..etc) to get me my coupe, and that during the snowy/icy days, he can drive me or I'll drive the van since the Q is rwd anyways. Wish me luck. BTW im looking at 04 coupes for around 21K with 30k miles or so

well sorry to be a ball buster but the coupe scares the living **** out of me lol.. i mean the car is no good for snow/rain and since i live in VA i have to watch how i drive n think everything twice over, however if u are a good driver or a responsible driver at that i don't see why not. i must admit the g35x seems to b safer with the 4wd n all but if u can prove to your dad that you can be trusted then i wouldn't see why he wouldn't let you get one... then again i got my first car from a dead lady at a yard sale.. i bought it myself, it was a 1982 town car so.. lol a g35 x is a swell car imo lol. plus i hear the sedans are just as fast.. since they are lighter *which still makes no friggin sense to me..* and im guessing u launch a lot better with 4 wd.

I was in the same position you are about 3 weeks ago. I got my coupe 5 days ago. Pretty much you just gotta do alot of talking and tell them the great things that are coming. For me it was keeping up the straight A's and the end of my sports scholarship deal. Also another good thing was that my dad used to drive a 300ZX so he missed the sports car feel and the 2005 coupe they bought me was a good deal. But anyways good luck with getting the car you want. And sedans really arent that bad espescially if you live in the snow that might outweigh how much of a hassle it might be to drive a coupe in that weather. Luckily im in florida.
