Infiniti Certified?

Hi guys,

I'm hoping to have a g35 sedan very soon but I had a question. Tried searching but didn't find anything.

I went and looked at an '05 6mt with ~48k at an infiniti dealer last night. They were asking $20,900. We sat down to negotiate and they refused to budge on the price. The sales guy told me that the dealer has to pay for the Certification to Infiniti and that's why they couldn't/wouldn't come down but ~$100 or so. They also told me that they had to put new brakes and belts on it to classify it as certified. Sorry, brakes and belts don't cost that much.

My husband and walked out but we expect the dealer to call us with another offer. Our question is: Is he pulling our leg to keep the price where it's at? I've seen the same year with less miles for 18k but I'd rather get the 2.9% financing that infiniti is offering right now.

I am in the same process of looking for a certified used g35 and according to the the 2 dealers I have talked to, only the sedan is being certified and not the coupe. The only way to get the 2.9% financing and the extended warranty is on the G35 or the M series, no coupes and no fx's.

Ok, so I've found via an autotrader listing from another infiniti dealer that the Infiniti Certified warranty price is $985. Just FYI for other's that are interested.

Does "certified" come with longer warranty? if not? then its nothing more than marketing gimmicks.

Might want to rethink about purchasing it just cus it gets you low interest rate. Say you get a loan for 20k with 2.9% for 4 years? you'd paid 1260 in interest, if you can find one with lower selling price? and get a loan for 18k but with 7% interest rate? you'd paid 2689 in interest, but you still would be ahead by more than 500 bucks in the end (21206 vs 20689).

Unless that car is what you really like? shop around and find the car you really want and dont let the lower interest rate be the sole deciding factor.

By the way, like your screen name, and welcome to the Driver.

Certified comes with a limited 6 year 100k mile warranty.

It also qualifies the car for special financing.

Thanks for the welcome! My hubby nicknamed me that. His SN's are typically scareyourpassenger. Don't let it fool you though. This baby is going on the track and autocrossing!

The dealer called and agreed to the price we want so I'm going tonight to get it! yay!

That's not a very fair competition!
