Hello, I'm looking at a g35 tomorrow that had previously had a turbo installed. Should I be worried about this and not buy the car? Anything I need to watch out for. Need your opinions.

who doesn't push a car thats been boosted? ya know what i mean? personally, i'd veer far away from it, but that's just me. i tend to push my cars myself, but...still

if everything checks out though, and the price is right, why not? take it to the stealership to have them do a used car inspection before purchase. it might be 200 bones, but for self reassurance, i'd do it. gl!

the general consensus is to never to buy a modded car they might have more problems expensive problems, so you're taking a risk buying that car.

Certain mods you don't have to worry about, but anything involving the motor, especially FI cars is a big risk. You never know how properly tuned the vehicle was or how hard it was beat on. You're basically rolling the dice, even with a good inspection.

Honestly if I was selling a car which was previously boosted, I'd never disclose that to the potential buyer, because it's only going to scare people away.

OP i would stand clear of most cars with any performance mods. Its great to get a car with things already done, but most of the times theres background reasons why they are selling it. I know with the G35 in general most younger people will run the ever hell out of it. Just like an evo, sti, m3, etc.

Find a nice low mileage 6mt. That way you can mod it the way you want and have just a little peace of mind.

i personally would veer away..good chance car has been driven hard..could be wrong but better safe than sorry

I can tell you how I would drive a boosted G.. On that note, stay far away

Unless it was dirt cheap. Then I'd buy it and throw an LS2 in it..

If I remember correctly, the used inspection I had done at a dealer (kearny mesa) was about $125. It's definitely good for peace of mind in general, but like other posters said, there might be more hidden problems that wouldn't show up until much later and couldn't be found with an inspection.

In any case, the factory inspection or one from a mechanic you trust is usually a good idea. For mine, I was even able to get the private dealer I was buying from to knock the inspection price off of my final price.

Unless there's something that's compelling about this specific G, why take the chance?

Yeah, if the price is just what you would expect, look at other options. If the price is absurdly low, maybe it's worth taking a look at.
