need expertise! buying a g35 2004 vs. 2006

Hey guys I'm looking to buy a g35 coupe within the next few days. I found two so f qar and i wanted to hear some opintions and advice. First one is a 2004
http://newjersey.craigslist.org/cto/3072672552.html
Second one is a 2006

Fwd: ***2006 G35 Coupe 6 Speed 68K*** - $15000
http://newyork.craigslist.org/lgi/cto/3092105590.html

Right now I'm leaning toward the 06 because of the lower miles and I assume that 06 is a better build compare to 04 but I could be wrong. Another I would like to know is how long does a typical g35 would last?
Thank you for your time.
Natty

I bought a 2004 G with 53K miles last year and could not be more happy.
on the other hand, sometimes i do with i had the sportier look of the 2006 aero kit which is why im changing the kits to 06 sports bumpers.

im not extremely familiar with this but to my understanding, the 2006 sports model (which you are looking at here) as an uprev engine which is better because it revs higher and thus u can land in higher in RPMs per shift. the 2006's do suffer from oil consumption so be sure to check for that! if i had the money i would have shelled out more to get the 2006 sports model your looking at but either way, their both amazing cars! i wish i found a 2006 6MT at 15k in Cali

my 04 coupe has 115k. picked it up second hand at a dealer. seemed to have been very well taken care off. my g is still going strong. 04 dont got the HR motors so i guess you could say its your opinion on the motor. the HR put out a lil more power compared to the 04.

To be honest, these engines do last if properly maintained, but the 06 6MT's do have a problem with consuming oil, as stated. I would make sure that the engine isn't an oil burner before purchasing. Also, it looks like it has been modded, so I would personally stay away. Also not a fan for painted stock rims.

As for the 04, it has brembo brakes, cheaper and less chance of oil consumption issues, black seats (vs tan seats in the 06) but the 04 doesn't have the updated interior if you can live with that.

Change the oil, drive it for 1000 miles and measure the oil at the dipstick.

The 04 has the non revup vq35de. 06 has the revup vq35de. NEITHER of them have the HR.

One big different is the headlight (projectors on the 06) and interior, I prefer the brushed aluminum look of the 06 over the cheap looking plastic in the 04

I'm not a fan of tan interior but I'd go for the 06'.
It has less miles, extended warranty, more hp, better for future breather mods, HID headlights, sport front bumper.
The 06' revup engine is more susceptible to oil consumption but that would be covered by the extended warranty.

^ Damn, thats pretty gay.
The price of extended warranties varies from dealerships and it depends on what mileage you already have on the car.
You can get a warranty at any dealership just gotta do some calling around.
Another thread mentioned good pricing Scottsdale Infiniti, ask for Courtney.

There a BUNCH of threads on extended warranties on here, enough reading to keep you busy for days.

yea thats true. i would try to stay away from modded cars. never know what they have done to it. but then again the stock looking ones could also been brought back to stock. just look into the car you get real good.

better built than bought

No mod on the 2006. The price different between the two cars is 1500. Should I take the 06 with less milea still or 04 with 82k and use the money to get extended warranty instead?
