Extended Warranty worth it?

Extended Warranty worth it?
I was wondering if getting an extended dealer warranty is even worth it on these cars, or if I should be fine in the long run without one.
The car is a 2008 G35x with 41,000 miles and I was looking at possibly a 24 month 24K mile one and a 36 month 36K mile one.
The factory warranty ends in February.
Thanks.

24 month 24,000 miles - $1,458
36 month 36,000 miles - $1.714
36 month 48,000 miles - $1,927
48 month 60.000 miles - $2,364
I was also looking into getting a loan from a credit union and they had said they offered an extended warranty as well, which was something I wasn't aware they did. But they were offering the below:
36 month 45,000 miles - $917 with a $100 deductible
48 month 48,000 miles - $925 with a $100 deductible
Those prices go up/down depending on the deductible amount.

Give a call to Courtney at Scottsdale Infiniti (google it) and get a real price. It's too bad you just passed 40K, because there is a substantial price point at that threshold which you are now on the uphill side of. Nonetheless, she will undoubtedly beat those prices. I don't agree with the "must have" status of the zero deductible. For the most part, if you're thinking of having the warranty as protection from an expensive windfall event (ie. tranny failure, head-unit dies, ECU fails, etc.), the deductible will be nominal in comparison, and since the warranty typically costs about 500 more for the zero, I don't see it as being particularly cost effective. I suggest you get your best price from the discount leaders in warranty sales (again, search it, there's tons of info on who they are) and then approach the dealer where you will most likely get your servicing done. Go for the 100 deductible warranty, ask them to match your best price on it, and often they will offer you a similar price plus the option to have them waive the deductible when you service the car at their dealership. Net result is the BEST deal around!
On a side note, I would highly recommend you stick with the Infiniti Elite Protection Extended warranty plans instead of an aftermarket, third party plan.
Good luck.

I say the warranty is worth it. In these days, EVERYTHING is computer controlled, unlike cars from 5-10 years ago. One module goes bad and it's $$$$.
Plus, simple things in our car seem to go bad, but cost a LOT. Examples on my car:
1. Steering wheel trim flaking, replaced entire wheel = $$$
2. Shifter solenoid, replaced assembly = $$$
3. Dash peeling on area above instrument cluster, replaced entire part = $$$
4. Tach light went bad, replaced entire instrument cluster = $$$
My clock light recently burned out, so I'm assuming they're going to replace the clock itself. That probably ain't cheap either, but I'm waiting until something else goes bad and get more than one thing fixed at a time.

Ummm.....yeah, so basically those prices suck pretty hard.
