Extended Warranty worth it?
Extended Warranty = Just a piece of mind.. Usually not worth it..
Here's my .02..
1. Parts are relatively easy to find and not too expensive.. (Buy online and save on labor from your local mechanic)
2. You can always buy "used" parts on expensive items.. (I had my TPMS go bad and I bought all 4 used in great condition for the price of 1 new)
3. Infiniti = Japanese = Reliable.. We're not talking about American or even Expensive German parts...
4. Why do you think that they offer Extended Warranty?!? Too lose out on money? I don't think so... Infiniti is in business to make $$$$$$$.. Just like any other business out there.. Of course at times you might win and get your moneys worth but most of the time Infiniti will come out ahead..
Just my opinion but I think I'm right here.. Skip the $100+ labor from Infiniti and overpriced parts... Most of the stuff that goes bad with these cars can be easily DIY or repaired for a reasonable amount..

Obviously, if you never have anything major go out, just little repairs, you can do very well with a bit of DIY just as you have said. But when the big stuff acts up (and LOTS of little stuff prices out to be big), it's nice to be covered, and THAT in a nutshell is what you get with the warranty. It comes down to a personal choice of whether or not you want to buy an insurance policy to cover unexpected maintenance on your car. Some folks are comfortable going without insurance, others wouldn't leave home without it. Peace of mind is right.
Priced a new ( NOT rebuild or used) tranny for one of these cars lately (let alone the labor!) ?????

I'm pretty sure most the posts were due to the extended basic bumper to bumper warranty...
You really need to do something wrong in order for your transmission or engine to go out after the warranty goes out..
My basic bumper to bumper warranty has expired but I have about 2 years left of the drive-train and some of the emissions warranty left. I've been lucky so far with just my tpms sensors going bad. Knock on Wood*
Consumer reports have tested numerous cars and our cars have been tested reliable.. I guess it's a calculative decision.. Some will buy it some won't.. I'm willing to put the $2k in the bank/stocks and earn some interest and take out every time a repair is needed.. I highly doubt repairs for this car will exceed $2k within 2 years.. *Knock On Wood!.. If you buy the "extended warranty" you're already down $2 grand from the get-go.. Maintenance is key too!

On my personal experience, I have to say that I fully recommed the warranty if you have the Nav. I'm on my 4th entire nav/radio assembly (including hard drive, radio, nav, satellite, etc). One unit was replaced was due to a Nav issue, and two were replaced due to a radio issue. The 4th one is working well so far.
My printout from the dealership didn't lists the costs since it was under warranty. I would imagine its 2-3x what my extended warranty cost.
Im about to pull the trigger on the Scottsdale Arizona Elite Waranty
She stated in the email that a milage inspection will have to be done. For those of you who went with Scottsdale, how exactly was the inspection performed?

break down on japanese cars are probability problem. but since 1 major break down would cost as much as for the extend warranty, i would say "yes, buy it". i got my 07G warrantied untill 2014 or 100k miles
i got extended warranty on my last car, the acura tl as well.
i paid about 3k for the warranty, and just after 5 month, got ball joint replaced and heated seat fixed, guess how much would cost if i dont have warranty? around $2500!! those ****ing stealers. plus when i bought my G, i transfer the left over of the warranty to the G, and i got about $1500 left
