Quote: My '08 G35x is at 35K miles. The original warranty expires in September, but I am getting the Infiniti Elite extended warranty right before the car hits 40k miles, sometime in April/May. I was quoted by the dealer a 36mo/48k @ 2028, 48mo/48k @ 2271, and a 48mo/60k @ 2538. I was considering the 48/60k since I drive from Central NJ to Bristol, PA at least 4x a week. The dealer did say the prices ARE negotiable, so I'm wondering if the 48/60k @ 2200 would be a good deal.

I'd recommend it for the peace of mind, and to know that, depending on your relationship with the dealer, they will go above and beyond to cater to your needs, as their customer. I've had BMWs and Subarus, I think my next car will be another Infiniti (unless they shaft me with a bad repair)
For what it's worth, here is the Quote I received from Scottsdale Infinit (Courtney)

I have a 2007 with about 36k miles on it now. Plan to buy at the end of the month.

Thank you for your inquiry! Based off your current mileage these are your options for extending your factory coverage...

G35 w/32500 miles (available terms and price will change once you exceed 40k).

The Infiniti Elite Protection Plan will start the day you purchase it and the mileage allowance will be added to what is currently on your odometer (so if you have 35k and you go with a 60/60 you will be covered until 95k or 5 years from now). The deductible will not kick in until your original 48mo/60k warranty has expired and the deductible is per visit not per item repaired. Infiniti requires an inspection and verification of the odometer prior to issuing the policy, so please call or email me for the details. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding the Infiniti Elite Protection Plan. Thanks again and have a great day.

I have been looking at the warranty as well for my 2008 G35xS with 39k. I got the same quote posted from Courtney. However my local dealer in Columbus, OH agreed to match their prices so I will most likely purchase local as I have had my car serviced there since I bought it a year ago.

WOW! That's almost $1000 less on the 48/60k! So, I could purchase the warranty from Scottsdale, AZ and it will be honored by my dealer in Edison, NJ? I realize the nature of my question, but if I'm dropping over $1500 on a warranty purchase, I want to make sure every detail is honored here, locally.

Absolutely! That's the wonderful thing about shopping the warranty this way. The warranty is offered through corporate Infiniti, so it is honored at ALL dealerships. Do note though, if you have your car serviced at the dealer who sells you the warranty, many times they will waive the deductible, so in a sense, it's like getting the higher priced (lower deductible) warranty for less. Not all dealers will do it, but it's worth checking into.

Good deal. I'll wait for the email confirmation from Scottsdale Infiniti on the Elite warranty, and I'll just bring it up to my service advisor, simple. Oh man, it is $900 LESS all across the warranty range, $900! Thanks everyone, love the G35 forum!

i called 3 different dealers for quotes and finally close the deal when i did. i got the 48mo/48k $0deductiable for $1700. Maybe you can get them to go lower after looking at the price chart.

What i am not happy about is that Florida has guidelines that the dealerships have to go by so i had to buy my warranty in state which i still have to pay also another grand because of it.

Did you actually verify that this was accurate, or did you at least ask Courtney if there was any limitation on her selling you your warranty? . . . because it sounds like pure dealership BS.

I did call Infiniti USA and have an email from them. I told them that i live in the state of florida and they told me that i cant get warranty unless it is in the state of Florida by florida guidelines. Any dealership only state of Florida wide.

That makes no sense. If I moved to Florida and had a warranty that was purchased out-of-state, would local dealerships there honor the warranty? Or conversely, if you moved outside of Florida, won't any dealership honor your warranty elsewhere? This sounds totally whack. I'm still learning everyday, but I have NEVER heard of anything like that before.

Is there anyone else out there from Florida that has had this same experience and can corroborate this?

NM, I just googled it, and sure enough, it seems FLA is "special" that way. Well, at least you guys don't have to worry about smog.

FYI, I was considering an extended warranty on my 07 G35 when new. Decided it wasn't worth it. Now have 97k mi and never had an issue.

Im not worried so much about the mechanics of the car, I am more worried about something electronic dying on me.

I have the Premium/Tech Package. I fear that at some point my GPS, Hard Drive, LCD, ICC, AFS, Backup Cam, Etc.... Will fault and I don't want to get stuck with the bill.

Anyone know of any known issues with the electronics dying prematurely? I am in the tech industry and with an 07, I realize the Hard Drive can go at any point right now...

Actually, I would think hard drives should last quite a while, as they are only subjected to relatively short usage hours, but who knows.
