Buying a G, what to expect.

Hey guys. My uncle is thinking about buying a used 03-05 G35 Coupe. I know there were a few problems with the Z (I own an 03), but is anyone having any problems with the G? Also, do you guys have any suggestion on what year he should get? Are there any major differences between the 03-05 models? Thanks guys.

I believe in '03-'04 the 6 speeds all came with Brembo brakes, whereas the '05s dont have Brembos...Correct me if I'm wrong here guys...

You are correct sir.

Other issues that are quite common across the spectrum include:

1. RATTLES!
2. Brake dust on the Brembos
3. 5AT brakes wearing out prematurely (03-04 models only - covered for 3 yrs. under warranty).
4. windows regulators going bad
5. Some people with 6MT complain about grinding in various gears

I think these are the major ones

03-04: brembos on 6MT
05: no brembos, but factory brakes with roughly the same performance; real aluminum interior trim as opposed to colored plastic; twist **** radio/air controls as opposed to push button; 6MT upped HP from 280 to 298, but decreased torque from 270 to 260; sport package gets 19in forged/polished aluminum wheels (though many still prefer the design of the 18s with the titanium finish)

I'd probably add the random gas filling difficulty along with that list

Not everyone experiences those problems. There is only ONE thing on the con side that you can absolutely EXPECT, and that is:

A really, really, really crappy sound system

FYI the average person doesn't have any of these problems (other than the flat sounding sound system)

Right, how could I have forgotten this... considering I just went the same thing and had the TSB applied...
