Thumbs down Another Rant but not about Infiniti....

Hey Guys,

I just got back from Parts Source.

I was trying to return a set of defective brake pads I purchased ( they are Satisfied Ceramic Pads) there in August. I asked for a full refund since the parts were deffective but they( Parts Source) would only offer me an exchange.

I realize that its not Parts Source fault that the pads are bad, but the agreement that they have with Satisfied Brakes is not a good one in my eyes.

Why could I not get a full refund? There is nothing on the bill of sale stating that I would not receive a full refund and there is no mention of an exchange only policy.

This is BS in my opinion for a consumer.

I have sent an e-mail to customer service to see where I can go from there.
If that isn't satisfactory, I guess I'll be joining the Automobile Protection Agency soon.

Sorry for another ranting moment...

Ahhh so it was the pads...
Sounds like a real PITA Bill.

Just curious, did the pads fail or were they made wrong?
Either way you should be entitled to a refund.

Don't be sorry, Bill....we're here to listen, and glad to help when we can..

Sounds like 'money back guarantee' and 'satisfaction guaranteed or money refunded' has gone out the window any more.

I guess any time we make a purchase in the future, we'll have to get details of returns and exchanges policy since there's been many changes.
Sucks big time doesn't it , especially since there's no forewarning of any policy change.

Good luck going up the ladder. Let's hope they ultimately value their customers.

Oh yeah....the APA is a good org., with some clout. They've been very helpful to my family with disputes in the past.........You can bet that businesses like the Parts Source you dealt with will sit up and take notice of them.

G/L with resolving the issue Bill. Let us know how it turns out.

The pads were made wrong. Three out of the four rear pads were concave in shape.

When we placed them down on a flat surface, the pads would rock back and fourth when we touched them.

Vic( Vic Simone @ Simone Performance) said that in over 20 years, he has never seen a pad behave like that. He has delt with Satisfied before and had never seen any problems with them prior.

I went with a set of Hawk HPS' in the rear.
The Ceramic Pros were fine up front so I kept them on. I am happy with them so far( No dust!!! )

Too bad about the rears though

Weird... never seen that either.
So much for their QA

Still can't believe they wouldn't refund for a defective product.

Sorry to hear about your pads Bill. I would think that you would definitely be entitled to a full refund. I find it quite ironic that those pads were made by "Satisfied".

From my understanding, they have to at least have a sign saying no refund, exchange only (unless something changed). Is there a sign behind the cash that says "Exchange Only"? If not, they must give you a refund, or at least store credit. Even though Part Source is a division of Canadian Tire, I believe most Part Source stores are independently owned, so you may want to speak to the Manager / Owner to see what they can do for you. Good luck!

The manager said that no refund is available, only a straight up exchange.
I asked for a store credit. That was a no can do.

I didn't see a sign anywhere pertaining to return policies for Parts Source.
Yes, they are independently owned.

Just received a reply from Satisfied.
They want me to return the pads via UPS...

Why do I have to do this? Wouldn't it be the responsibility of Parts Source since they are the retailer?

Satisfied probably wants to see what went wrong.

Wow, not even a store credit!..... that sucks ***** as the saying goes....

.......they really are being a pain aren't they...

and yes, the pads should go back via Parts Source......

They're really giving you the runaround, Bill....

Think maybe they should know that the APA will be notified of their sales practices?

I bet you're steamed...I would be.

G/L -- keep us in the loop

Sounds like you've got no choice....Let P/Source send them back and tell them you still want a full refund for defective parts and you won't be happy untl that happens....
Keep the pressure on, Bill.
