Got 'Lucky' Today......

.......and not in the way you think I did..... :
Coming back from lunch at Mom's, I went down a new stretch of road recently opened to traffic to check out the new development.....Well apparantly many peeps have been doing just that and at a high rate of speed.
With a speed limit of 60 klicks, there's me enjoying the new pavement at 88 !
Lo and behold, who should be parked down the way waiting for me to arrive?:
Mr. Popo and his radar. .. OH oh, had me dead to rights.....and when he told me I was doing 88, I thought it might get expensive..

I humbled myself and and told him that I usually am very attentive while driving, and that I'd seen the results of speeding many times in my job.....
He asked "what job" so I told him...... (without saying I'd retired).....

He checked me out on his computer, came back and said 'the magic words'... "Ok, I'll let you go this time, but slow down please....."
I thanked him for the break, and said that I wouldn't let him down.......

Lucky me......That was close

I was careful all the way home, but damn, driving at the speed limit is slow........

Your humble admin. who should know better.......

C.

Very close call. Unfortunately, my fiancee wasn't as lucky. She just called me and told me a cop pulled over 4 cars (and she was in the middle) and charged each of them with 15 kms over the limit.

Btw, my friend is a Doctor, he got off a couple of tickets already.

Sorry to hear that man.....wow, 15 over is chinsy compared to what this guy let me off with......

That must be hard to get 4 cars in a row accurately for speed. hmmmm. She might have an argument there.....

LOL, Eric, no legs, but I did talk with a 'lisp' and told him I had to get my papers out of my purse, tho...So maybe he wanted me gone real quick.....

this actually reminds me, people have been going viciously fast on the 407 this morning around 8:30, i dunno if it's like that regularly...

I was going 130-140 just to keep pace with traffic. And then there are these guys that are FLYYYYYYYYYING past me at least 160...man, pretty crazy stuff.

Well Colin, I told her .
She said "Oh the bugger , the Police let a fireman off, but wouldn't let a Hospital worker off " (she got the ticket just down the street from the Hospital, and the Popo knew she was working there) .
