with travel, 2 nights only gives you 1 day in QC.

We were wondering is 2 nights enough?

...
I supose if we plan on the 1st & 2nd, then others can get there a day early if they wish (us for sure)

I'm in the air now, darn, it might be too rushed for us. Karen doesn't want to travel 2500 km in 5 1/2 days from Quebec City, she said she wants to relax a bit also and thought the Gaspe Peninsula run was the main part of the trip.

OK... so here's another idea.
What if we finished in QC instead of starting there?

Meet the East coast gang around Bathurst or something...
then come around the other way.

That's good thinking and works much better for us. It would probably help accomodate Wayne and K too. As a matter of fact our plan was to stay overnight in Bathurst the 30th with Heathers parents on the way down.

However we're also flexible to meet somewhere else as long as we can do it in a easier day something like 600-700k from here.

EDIT
On second thought meeting around Campbellton or the Quebec side of it would probably be the most practical. Bathurst would have us do extra backtracking.

That works for Anissa and I as well. If we did the Gaspe loop first, what dates would be staying in QC? I can make the necessary changes with the hotel.

I'm confused, but I'm still down for this. Do you have to book me a hotel, or do I have to call to book it? How shall I pay you for it?

I would like to see Quebec City for at least a full day and a night though.

How many days/nights will this entire trip encompass, from the time that we all meet up until we split and go home?

I'm guessing Thursday & Friday.
Have 2 nights & the whole day Friday in QC then everyone has 2 days to head home on the weekend.

The meeting point can be anywhere around Campbellton.... where ever it's most convenient.
We (westerners) could also head across 180 to Bathurst... then up 11 to start the loop.
We'll see what Wayne thinks.

Hey Brian, glad to hear you are still up for the trip. At first we were planning on going to QC and then doing the Gaspe loop. Ian suggested that we do the Gaspe loop first and finish the trip in QC.

I would guesstimate that the entire trip for you would be about 5 nights.

Just to clarify, when you say Thursday and Friday you are talking about July 5th and 6th, correct?

Sounds like it might work for most people that way. For me the main thing was enjoying each others company on a nice run.
K is out doing her yearly canvassing for the Cancer Society and I just returned from my walk. When she returns I will run this by her.
As far as a meeting point for East meets West, K and I could meet up with you East C folk anywhere on the Gaspe run. Ian thats a good plan since we are off the whole week before, we could head out anytime.
I just have to wait for my co-pilot to get home for a discussion.
