I just received a call from Wayne not all that long ago. He has stayed in Caraquet for the last 3 nights (including tonight) and both him and K has been enjoying every moment of it so far. He's got a nice room facing the ocean, has bought some Alexander Keiths, and has had some Atlantic seafood. He mentioned that he got a pretty bad rock chip in his windshield from a transport truck and his windshield might need replaced. He also said that he did some off roading with his X in the Mt. Carleton area.
And the MOST IMPORTANT NEWS of the trip came today when he found out that he is a Grandfather once again. His daughter in England had a baby girl today weighing 7lbs 10ozs (IIRC). Both him and Karen are on cloud nine.
Congrats to both Wayne & Karen on their new Grand daughter!!

Just a quick note to the rest of the roadtrip crew.
Karen and I left the Hotel in Quebec City at 6:15 AM this morning. No one on the roads at all in the city, it was a piece of cake getting out of there.
Had breakfast just outside Montreal at 8:30 AM. (Brian it took 3 hours to get to Montreal from the Hotel)
Had lunch in Bellville at 12 noon then did some shopping there at the Mall
.
Got home to Kincardine at 5 PM and covered just over 1,000kms today, it was a good run home.
Had a fantastic time, will post pics and a write up later this weekend.
My son and his GF are here for the weekend so going to open a cool one and light the barby
.
Be back later.

Hey guys, we're home too! What a fantastic time. Good times, great people and beautiful scenery. As our trip progressed we decided to make the run home all in one day. We left a bit after 9am and got home at 7:23 AST putting on 1045 kms with two stops totalling about 38 minutes and a drive time of 8:37. QC was a bit busier getting out of by the time we sleepyheads got away. The G got a nice workout today with a return trip average speed of 121.5 km/hour. I won't post the top.
I haven't filled up yet but the first return tank yielded 31.75 mpg and 8.85 l/ 100k
I'll post more tomorrow and maybe I can come up with a few pics too. We managed to get a couple of shots of the most unusual vehicle I can ever recall seeing on the road. I hope they turned out. More later.

Deane
Glad to see you & H home safe and sound Deane.
Hummm sounds like a case of lead-footitus
, good time on your trip home and great mileage. I have not calculated all of my mileage figures for the whole trip, but I think my mileage is much worse than my 05X. But the car performed flawlessly, except for my chipped windshield and a few marks on my rims from that horrid road construction on Hwy 17.

I have a goodie bag for you from Shane, I had a hard time keeping Deane from it
.
I have to go to the Dealers this week, I'll call you later Monday morning after I talk to them, maybe we can meet up.
