I'm sure Wayne is very familliar with oil extractors...,
They're used extensively for marine applications.
You are correct Ian, I have used an oil extractor for probably 20 years now on the inboard-outboard engines on my boats.
As far as getting all the sediment out, if you warm the engine up good and hook up your extractor immeadiately after shutting it down, it will do a good job of pumping out the dirty oil and suspended products.

Sweet that BMW already locates the filter up top, nice.

I would prefer to not use up brownie points using my "helper" for this kind of task anyhow.
Rule of thumb...
I know I've seen a tech paper on this.....
I'll see if I can locate it.

I've heard that the order of bleeding brake systems starts with passenger side rear, then driver's side rear, then passenger side front, then driver's side front.

Don't know if it's the same for our Infinitis tho????

The manual does give a sequence, but....
It really doesn't matter too much these days since the lines are independant.
When there is a common (shared) line the order *does* matter.

Deane was refering to calipers such as Brembo that have multiple bleeders on one caliper.

Here is an excerpt from the SToptech BBK install guide which talks about the bleed proceedure for muti bleeders.
It notes that it's only required for the 1st time install, after that just use the one final bleeder.

The complete manual is HERE

Also lots of info on this site.. Zeckhausen Racing

K so the advice is brake flush for sure since I have not done it in 2 years now.
Injector cleaner is all I need for now (any recommendations)

Coolant flush think I will do it this year as well. Any recommendations on place to do it and brands.

Brake fluid Motu as I can get it cheaper then most
what about coolant should I go with Motu as well?

Poor Injector flow could be such a slow process that you wouldn't notice the effects very easily.
It's possible that your injectors are fine, but to my thinking it's not likely.
As you probably know, poor injector flow would affect engine power and gas mileage.
If you've never done it, it might be worth a $10 bottle of good cleaner to see if there's any diff.
I personally don't trust our fuels much these days. I think we're pumping a little more than good, clean, high octane gas into our tanks these days..
Just a thought.

......and yes, tranny flush (both auto & manual) is a good thing -- from what I've heard, and provided the fluid isn't burnt earlier, auto tranny fluid should be changed out every 2 yrs.
Manual tranny-- I don't know....Being that it's a lot less quantity, it's probably good to change it every year to keep shiifting slick.

Colin.
Sidenote, Does anyone have any recommendation of what brand of fuel injector cleaner to use? I haven't used any of those before.... and is about to go to crappy tire for a bottle but dunno which brand to buy...

Any advice for a newbie please?
