If you are keeping your vehicle 10 years or more than I reccommend Rust Check http://www.rustcheck.com/about.asp. I have kept some vehicles for as long as 16 years that I drive year round and after that length of time they still looked great.

I have also heard good reports with Krown, but I have never used it.

If you are keeping it less than that then I think it is a waste of time and money. A car built these days has enough protection built into it to last that long.

If you are talking about the electronic rust contol at the Dealers, money grab, use the money for mods instead.

I've used both Krown and Rust Check too, Wayne, tho not in recent years.
As you say, you need to keep the car a long time to benefit from it.

I actually worked mine into a deal so I couldn't quote you an actual figure.
Give them a call. Also it is really reccommended to get the full bumper wrap along with the leading edge of the hood and front fenders. It's worth it.

Krown Rust Control Is Good Stuff!

I recommend Krown and can personally vouch for its long-term effectivenes. I use Krown on my '87 Buick Grand National (aka "The One") which I still own. I've never driven this car in the winter but hey, after almost 20 years, the car has ABSOLUTELY NO RUST. The factory paint was never that great but I still get compliments from folks at the gas station. The idea of drilling holes did bother me a bit when I first oil-sprayed her but they aren't really that noticeable once the plastic caps are installed to cover the holes.

The only real negative-side to Krown is the oil dripping that continues for about two weeks after its been applied. They usually do a quick wash of the car when they are done but I always ask them to skip that part. Since I'm so **** about this car I drive right-off their facility with oil-dripping everywhere and smoke coming from the oil + hot surface contact (e.g. exhaust, engine, etc.). It's quite a sight but, hey, did I say I was real **** about this car? When I get home, I usually lay some newspaper under the car in the garage and just let the oil drip and soak into every crevice for two weeks as I only drive the car very infrequently and only on sunny days at that. After that, I wash my baby real good. If you go this route, I don't recommend parking your car on the driveway for AT LEAST a few days after the oil spray.

I plan on Krowning the G in the spring for sure. I hope that helps!

GN - NICEEEEEEEEEEEE
That seems like a lot of maintenance. I am not too fond of the drilling holes either so i guess i heav to research it more.

Krown drills holes, so what does Rust Check do?

Rust Check does the same. I've used RC before. Our 92 van lasted virtually rust free for 12 years, 170 km before we sold it. Holes are covered and they look fine. The only rust was at the bottom of both fr. doors. I stoped using RC after about 8 years. I believe Krown uses a slightly thicker formulation. I haven't done the G yet. I read here somewhere that the formulation can gunk up the what-ya-ma-call-its in the doors.Thinking about using the electrical one, but I've been lax about doing my research.
