Question Coming from Seattle...

I was planning on going up to canada this weekend from seattle just to get away with the wife. I'm getting mixed answers on the question of a passport is needed at the border, or just a drivers licence would be sufficed. can someone help me out here. thanks

bring your passport.....
there have been numerous incidents about people not carrying their passports and then got into some trouble
so just use it on the safe side

If you have a Passport bring it, it just simplifies the matter.
I know for Canadians we can still cross for a while yet with a birth certificate and a piece of photo id.

I was under the impression that the passport wasn't yet required if you are driving. That's a good idea to check with a travel agency or the US customs and border patrol: http://www.cbp.gov/
