Buying G35 Coupe from States

Hey,

I was recently considering purchasing an Infiniti G35 Coupe from the United States versus from Canada where the prices are still inflated.

1. I was wondering what steps are necessary to obtain the car from United States and to bring it over to Canada.
2. What steps necessary to get vehicle saftied in Manitoba
3. Would i need to pay tax on this vehicle in the states and get taxed again once in Canada?
4. Considering getting the vehicle shipped to Manitoba, would there still be border fees & legal documents necessary?
5. Would I be able to get my taxes returned if vehicle is claimed under business exspense?

I am looking at an 2004/2005 G35 Coupe preferably 6MT. The area I am considering is around where my relatives live and would be able to inspect the vehicle for me (Fairlawn, NJ). I have found G35C in the 23k price bracket and was wondering if this an alright price for a 2004 with an average of 40-50k miles.

Appreciate any assistance or suggestions.

Ok so far this is what i have collected:

Vehicle: 2004 Infiniti G35 Coupe - $21,000 USD (43,000 Miles, Auto, Fully loaded)
Exchange Rate: @.901 - $2,500 CDN
Duty Fees Payable - $1,450 CDN
Import Fees Payable - $500 CDN
GST + PST Payable- $3,290 CDN
Transportation Fees Payable - $1,200 CDN
Net Total - $29,940 CDN

When vehicle is claimed under business exspense:

Account Recievable - $1,200 CDN (conservative figure)

Total assessed value: $28,740 CDN

Financed:

$8,740 @ 7.0% * 48 Months = $220.00 (est. figure)

I was really hoping for monthly payments in the double digits region ,
I really want this car before July and have not submitted an application for a passport (since the new law) so i won't be able to fly in and drive back.

Alternatively my local dealership (Crown Nissan, if anyone lives in the Peg), has quoted a figure of $26,500 for a 2003 G35 Coupe purchased from a dealer auction.

/**
* Calculations not precise
*/
Taxable Vehicle Price $26,500.00
Taxes + $3,710.00
Total Vehicle Price $30,210.00
Loan $10,200.00
Taxes + $910.00
Loan Amount $7,410.00
Monthly Payments $220.00
Number of Payments * 48
Total Loan Payment $8,517.20
Total Loan $8,517.20
Loan Amount - $7,410.00
Total Interest $1,107.20

So should i go with my local dealership, and what kind of car can I expect if i do? Also if I made any errors, please let me know (I think I might have made one, not sure though).

h

before buying my g, i did ALOT of research looking to buy a vehicle.

Your figures are correct.

There are some great deals to be had thats for sure. The only issue I ran into is alot of people leased or financed their vehicles. Thats where it gets messy, because, for the owner to release the vehicle the car needs to be bought out from the holder (usually a bank).

I found alot of good deals on craigslist, I searched all of the states with this tool.

http://crazedlist.org/

It'll go through every single state and search for you rather then doing it 1-by-1.

GL!
