My business partner and I just finished taking the plunge. Pics attached of the house, the pool and the new wheels for the home we purchased in DC Ranch in Scottsdale. Just got back from furnishing the home. It was 102 degrees when I was there and under 10C when I got home.
I can't believe how much less Americans pay for cars than we do. We leased this loaded M35 for slightly over half what I would pay in Edmonton. Gas is cheaper, food is cheaper, utilities are cheaper. Oh well, Edmonton is home but I now have a refuge from our long winters. Once business is established in Phoenix I will be doing lots of travelling.

We have daily direct flights, 3 1/2 hours. It is not bad at all.
There are so many friends and associates with business interests there that I did not see a down side. Real estate has bottomed there so that combined with our strong dollar and the timing seemed right. Sold our property in Canmore which provided a healthy return. Buy low, sell high. Seems to be working ok.
On a side note, the new M35 is sure a nice car. Great ride, creature comforts. The air conditioned seats are sure a treat in the Arizona sun. I looked at Lexus as well but the Infiniti was way more bang for the buck.

Thats what I thought. I'm in the same boat. Starting investing in real estate right now :-). I co-own a construction company & also co-own a Flooring & Interior Finishes Retail store (Hardwood, Tile, Carpet, Granite Slab etc). You doing commercial or residential mainly? We're in the high-end residential construction game right now.
If you don't mind me asking, what was the purchase price of the property?

Nice...But you pick a state that has a lower cost of living and everything is cheaper just like some states in the center of the US. If you try CA or NY or any major states I think you might find it a little annoying..I do..haha..Very nice tho...I have a lot of friends that moved to AZ because there's no way they can afford a real house here in CA...
