What part of Downtown are you staying at and what is your price range for dinner?

Strada
I went to Strada a couple of weeks ago and the food was amazing.
I highly suggest the "high river striploin steak with brandy peppercorn sauce"

Some suggestions:
1. Biff's (Front St. E., just east of Yonge St.) - bistro
2. Harbour 60 (Lakeshore, near Yonge St., just south of the Air Canada Centre) - steakhouse
3. Jump (Commerce Court, Yonge & Wellington)
4. Far Niente (Commerce Court, Bay & Wellington)
5. Bravi (Wellington St. E., just east of Yonge) - Italian
6. Ki (BCE Place, Bay & Wellington) - Modern Japanese
7. Acqua (BCE Place, Yonge & Wellington) - Italian
I've been to all, and recommend them.

+1 of Biff's, Far Niente, and Bravi. All three will set you back a few dollars.
Harbour 60 steak is good, but I'd rather go to Hy's. I think they execute their service better. I find Harbour 60 service sometimes is hit and miss.
I'd stay away from Ki, unless you like dining with bankers and their big haired mistresses, and tables filled with women on a girlsnite out evening, just desperate to hook up and marry above said banker. That restaurant, its patrons and even the doormen have rubbed me the wrong way many times.
I find the 'look at me crowd' is easier to deal with at this restaurant:
Kultura (King Street East and Jarvis) is my new hangout for dining.
Colbourne Lane (on Colbourne Lane/Church, behind King Edward Hotel)
For Thai food, I'd go to the renovated Bangkok Garden on Elm and Yonge (its been around since the early 80s. I'm thai, and its good food)
I'd also check out the japanese place: Mochizuki on Elm and Yonge. Best sushi/sashimi I've eaten in North America, outside of California and Vancouver. But then again, I haven't eaten there sober, so maybe my taste buds were off.

haha, trust me there are way better places In the downtown core, I've enjoy Japango on Dundas and Victoria(unsure), I've heard good things about Hiro sushi at King & Sherborne? I find the best sushi are out of the downtown core though.

Hiro Sushi is one of the best sushi in Toronto as all ingredients are flown from japan. My friend was a chef there. He is now at Nami another great resturant.

AHHH! I forgot about Hiro Sushi. Hiro is just a few units down from Kultura. I still like Nami a lot.
BTW, I incorrectly put Mochizuki on Elm and Yonge. Its Elm and Bay.
