Service Engine Soon Light

Had my routine oil change done at 66k last Saturday. Noticed two strange things since then, first on about Tuesday when the weather got warm I had a belt squealing but has since gone away since it's cold again. Also, since Thursday the Service Engine Soon light has been on solid. Today I got gas and made sure the cap was clean and closed properly and the light is still on.

Any worries or is there something else I should be checking.

My G did that once and I also suspected it was the gas cap. I filled it up and made sure to tighten it a couple of clicks. The light did not go out that day, but, it did the following day.
Wait for a day or two of driving, you might luck-out and have the same result as I had.

My light came of after my first oil change that I had done to the G after I bought it. Turned out that the air filter was checked but not put back properly. There was a slight gap. Caused me lots of worry, not to mention a ticket. but that's another story.

Interesting ... I have a Stillen intake, so the dealer never services it. Perhaps I need to give it a cleaning and see what that does.

Thanks, P

I've had the light come on in a couple of other vehicles and then go off a day or two later. The sensors are extra sensitive and sometimes maybe a tiny bit of dirt or extra moisture sets them off. On an Acura we had before it took 13 trips to the dealer to resolve it. Ended up being a faulty spark plug after being remotely diagnosed in Toronto.

I never worry unless they stay on.

has the belt squealing come again??? I test drove one ('04) yesterday and had that belt squealing as well.

Also the engine fan seemed to come on quite quickly after 45 mins of driving or so. Is this always running or does the engine got hot quickly?? Have you experienced this/is it normal?
