Wasnt there a DRL thread for Canadians with US cars?

I tried searching but its kinda finicky.. I thought I started a thread about DRLs somewhere... anyways. I have asked all these questions before but unfortunately I cannot find the thread:

1st few questions for those with ORIGINAL Canadian Spec vehicles how does your DRL function?

1. What light works as your DRL?
2. Does it seem to be going at 100% or less?
3. If it happens to be the fogs that are DRLs, if you set the lights to AUTO if and when it gets dark and the lows come on automatically if the fog stick is set to OFF do the fogs automatically go off?

2nd set of questions:

For those with US spec vehicles who have gotten DRLs done.. same questions for you.

THANKS !!!

You should be able to find your posts and threads by going into your private messages area and looking on the left side of the screen. There should be something about all posts and threads started. Maybe in your profile.

I know I've seen a few DRL threads/posts....

FWIW......

In Advanced search...
Search by
- "user name"
- click drop down menu & select "threads started by"

Unless you've started a ton of threads.... it should be easy to find.

...the other thing that's useful is the "thread tools" - "subscribe" for topics that you may want to stay on top of...

DRLs from high beams would not be possible since the high beams are un-shuttered low beams which are HID. DRL would have to be either fog light or turn signals - I can't see any other way without adding other light housings.

Two of your three questions for original CDN owners were already answered in your first thread. Here you go:

1. fogs
2. yes it appears to be 100%
3. yes, the fogs go off and only the low beams appear

Ok then, fogs, so now the search for a module begins. I guess since no one seems to be doing one, I will be doing a DIY if I end up doing this myself.

DRL's real easy..

Hey There,Went through the same thing when I imported my 05 G up from Arizona last Nov.* Had a couple of options for the DRL requirement for certification in T.O.Could have paid the Woodbridge dealer a whopping $1500 bucks for module/wiring conversion----good thing I didn't fall for that one.Searched out a module available at Canadian Tire --cost $20---nice.* It allows you to wire all the lights, including tailights and headlights or you can wire the module to run only your fog lights.* It still allows independent use of your fogs at night.* By the way------ended up temporarily wiring the fogs to my washer fluid motor to pass certification and now run the car with my parking lights on during the day----looks better.Good Luck,Rob

I guess I will go with independant fogs. That would serve the purpose. I turn my lights on all the time when I drive just coz i dont have DRLs at the moment, but if i had the option, I would like to have my tails.. on all the time... and my independant fogs which I would use in the morning...
