You probably could. I didn't lift mine up to check, because the noise was so obvious, I knew it needed to be replaced. Also, it doesnt happen when going over a speed bump, for instance. Only over smaller bumps in the road, going slower speeds under 40km/h, for me at least.

I initially thought it was my strut that had gone bad, or not tightened enough, but it wasnt.

Hope it helps.

you are luckier than me here, at least the noise came AFTER you got some nice stuff on your car, where for me.. my car is bone stock with absolutely no mods, not even some vibrating neon lights on my dashboard...

Hmmm I haven't had this problem yet (knocking on wood) I'm at 66k + and it drives just like my buds 06 coupe I would have thought with the car lowered on 19" wheels these would have gone already

Got the same quote from 417 Infiniti here in Ottawa for both sides. I may order the parts myself and get someone to do it like the OP and save $500.

Mine clunks and knocks when I turn the steering wheel all the way to back up from my garage or when backing up to a parking space. Any idea if it is the compression rods or what else?

which dealer you recommend?
what is a AIR Warranty?

I went to 401Dixie Nissan/Infiniti, the Parts guy said my basic warranty is up, and told me that I have to shell out my own money to fix whatever is wrong with the car :\. (which was the comp rod.)

Does anyone have the part number for the compression rods on Riverside Infiniti? I can't seem to populate any results using the search function.

Is Riverside the best place to buy from?
Thanks!

I had two different places try to find out what the problem was with the car. I have a clunking in the right front. I tild them about the compression rods and they were not sure. It is frustrating because I paid a total of $400 in 2 places to diagnose and I got nothing. It looks like it is the compression rods by the sounds of things here. I just wish I could know for sure.
Also, to the person at the start of the post that got the good deal on the rods, where did you get them again?
thanks
Matt
