Also, to the person at the start of the post that got the good deal on the rods, where did you get them again?
thanks

Sage advice my friend.
It is pretty bad when my friends on the forum can diagnose by me explaining and the dealership can't when they look at it and drive it!

compression rods gone at 58K. Markham Infiniti refuses to replace under warranty because of my coil overs. However told me to go home take the coils off and bring it back and then they will replace it under warranty. WTF????

Just had the compression rod replaced on my '05 6MT sedan. Mileage is at 48,500 Km. I did not have the clunking noise but rather a crunching rubbery noise when going over bumps, most noticeable when the steering is turned full lock. Stealer also recommended that I replace the belts at a cost of $175. There is a bit of noise coming from it, tolerable for now. I've already noticed that it squealed last winter when the temp is very cold, -15C or below. Visually belt looks OK. I am surprise that the belts need to be replaced at this low km. My previous vehicles went over 250,000 Km. and it was still fine. The technician mentioned that it is quite common for the G to replace the belts around 40,000 Km to 50,000 Km. Looks like these days, parts are not made to last long.
If I were to replace the belts, would I be better off using after market or OEM?

this almost makes me wonder if it has something to do with my front brake sine i always brake when i turn... can anybody give me some ideas?? this "click click" noise is driving me nuts since day one i bought my car...
Seem like people are describing two diffrent things.
Some describe a click and some a clunk, which audibly are pretty different.
Im getting a click from the front of the vehicle. I did lower my g35 on tein st-techs about 3 weeks ago. I just went over 50,000mi and I still have some powertrain warranty left on my 04 coupe.
here's my thread:
https://g35driver.com/forums/g-spot/223620-clicking-front-cover.html

Jeffy when my freind listened to the clicking he though it was coming from
the belts. You get any confirmation on your belt theory?

Well, timing is everything. My warranty expired 2 weeks ago. Heard the left front compression rod knocking/thudding over a speed bump for the first time yesterday. We'll see if the dealer will help me out, but I'm not holding my breath.

33k kms

With your mileage Deane, I would hope they'd step up to the plate!

Thanks guys. I've only heard it the once after a half hour after I picked it up from getting an alignment done.

Appmt set for next week. I know all the management there well, from the top down, however they're customers of mine so also need to tread lightly.

Damn, I think this is what I have though I thought it was an issue with not tightening my strut bearing after lowering my car on springs. Does this stuff really happen instantly...it happened right after changing the springs...is there any way to resolve this or is the rod really completely done?

I have 47,000 miles on my car, so I still have the powertrain warranty. Will that cover replacing the rods?

No they are suspension parts, not drive train.
