Trip to Montreal
Trip to Montreal
Just came back from Montreal. I rented an 07 Toyota Matrix because I didn't want to take my G with the crazy streets and drivers in Montreal and we have a corporate deal with Hertz. That thing is a POS, there is no passing power, the drivers seat was soft and had no lumbar support, my back hurts from driving that thing.
- I didn't see any left over snow
- The "gentlemen's clubs" on St. Catherine's are a rip off compared on the ones in T.O.
save your time and money
- Their Jazz festival is way better than ours
- Schwartz's smoke meat sandwitches are okay, but not worth the drive & hike up the hill for them.
Some of the pics are posted here -> https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...91#post3181591

apparently there's better smoked meat at the snowdon deli, (had a bulk order for inventory), it's a debate, but it's generally agreed that schwartz's is over-rated. as for the gentlemen's clubs, wouldn't know, but if you didn't see the snow you didn't look very closely, the turcot yards are still full, and there are even bigger piles out in the industrial parks in the other dumps.
gotta love the roads here eh?
interesting seeing the city from a tourist's eyes

it's rumored that the construction companies here deliberately build the roads so they wear out quicker and so have more work...
the sheer volume of traffic must have something to do with it too. at least most of the highways are being changed to concrete, which seems to be holding up...
it's not just the roads either, the superstructures and bridges don't lend much confidence either....
but really, infrastructure was under financed for a long, long time here, and the gov has finally realized, got like 20 billion $ going into it over the next X years....
