It's been very good the last number of days. We have 13 medals so far and several very strong hopefuls to go. We're ahead of Athens already.

Truth. The triathlon was an awesome race, glad I stayed up to watch it all. That was some gutsy finish by Whitfield.

So true!!!

I was falling asleep so taped the run and watched this am. I absolutely love that style of hanging tough behind a bit and then letting it all hang out for a strong finish.

I wished he had a bit more left for the gold though!!

It's just so refreshing to see athletes compete with pure effort, sweat and guts instead of sequined outfits and sparkly eye makeup.
I think he just started his final sprint a little too early. I wonder how it would have played out if he had waited for Frodeno to make the first move.
I guess that's why I like watching sports like rowing, too - win or lose, they leave it all on the course.

Right on. You're bang on about the first move. He was anxious from being behind. He was the speed king of that group and letting someone else go first may very well have been the ticket to gold.

We're on the same page with those "leave it on the course sports". Those are the ones I enjoy and can relate to most. I believe we've got the CDN canoe/kayak championships happening here in Dartmouth next week right down the road from me.

Good idea. I can't seem to run too much now so maybe that's the ticket! I can prep for the waterfront spot in retirement.
